just the thickness which makes people think twice but i think yes shld be the nicest one among the novelties.

just tried on the BB pro with the hybrid strap, wears well, dont feel the bulkiness of the thickness.
at $5090, i think this will sell quite well.

Hi guys, I finally took the plunge and bought the Seiko SPB147 that I had been eyeing for close to 2 years. Bought it from an authorised dealer.

The watch is a beauty BUT is running super fast out of the box - it gains about 10 seconds every hour.

My question is: what can I do?

I'd go down to Seiko's service centre but its so far away in Ubi and it doesn't open on weekends so I have to take leave to fix this. Is there anything else I can do practically, like maybe some sort of hard reset? Not super keen on going to K2 or similar for regulating services either...

What an off-putting experience. No Seikos or automatic watches for me in the near future, I've gone back to my trusty Apple Watch in the meantime.

Tagging who I recall are the Seiko experts for advice too @atypicalsingaporean @PiPiChew

Have you taken out the stickers? If not, can try to exchange with shop. Or they could take it in for you. It's not impossible.

It does sound magnetised.

My 147 was running 10 seconds slow for every 4 hours after 18 months of ownership.

Brought it to the service centre and the staff said it would require a service. The fee was $128.xx and I collected the watch about 4 weeks later. Now, it gains 5 seconds per day.

Thanks. Mine would definitely be under warranty so I wouldn't expect to be charged. Just irked that they don't open on weekends.

hmm i did a simple test on my iphone and it doesn't seem like the watch is magnetised

If you don't want a 3rd party to work on it, the only option is to go to the service center, or have the AD you bought it from bring it in for you.

your best bet, honestly, is to just bring it back to the AD for an exchange.
