Anybody wear Certina watch? Bought this during last year trip to KL. Quite surprise with the accuracy for the eta movement, 2 weeks only +8s.

2.6k gross barely just cross the 30k mark, not sure if its easy to get a cc.

different people different opinions, just do what u feel its right.

probably can start off with a mid tier luxury watch then slowly go up level.

As long as you pass the 30k mark will definitely be able to get. That's why the traineeships are set at 2.5K, just nice to hit 30k pa - gvt wants to encourage spending.

Suggest getting a 2nd hand quartz Cartier Tank or the Oris 36mm pointer date. Rolex is a bit too lofty of an aspiration on that monthly base for now.

My honest advice is to just find bargain pieces like a Seiko 5, or G shock, or Orient pieces.I started out with a SNZG15 when I started work.. You don't need to buy a Rolex to get into this hobby. I have one, but I would also be OK if I didn't have it..

Debt is a snowball that builds up easily. Seen a lot of friends collapse under the weight because they went too fast too far. Better to walk on secure ground. Cheers.

lol that's exactly what happened to me. Went straight into rolex after my first year working (back then prices are doing ok). now, liquidated all to save my business :(

At least you profited from it no? Rolex is buy early as possible. I regret being too safe with everything when I was in my 20s.

$2600 before cpf.

my salary is $2600 before cpf. which credit card can i apply for and if i buy a rolex within $10,000 then how does the credit card repayment work?

Can get most of the basic CC. Check them on moneysmart.

In simple theory, if you were to full loan the $10,000 then say you go for a 10 month installment plan, the bank will pay the $10,000 upfront for you and then invoice you $1,000 per month. However this is provided there is no interest or processing fees being charged to you.

Even though your pay does qualify you for the card, your credit limit might be low though. The 4x monthly income credit limit is merely an upper limit, not a guarantee. I have friends with $3.8k pay with credit limit of only 8k, so do note on it as well.

I bet a lot of Panerai people thought that too, until prices went south. Same for the Hyflux bonds people.

Nothing is forever. Which is why you should buy what you like, when you can afford it, not on some assumption that you will definitely make money. Rolex always appreciating is not like the sun always rising from the east hor.

The limit depends on your credit score. I would say for a fresh grad with sufficient proof of income and no prior debt, limit 3x of income should be no issue.

I always thought it’s 2X. Unless your annual income is ### (don’t know how much) then it’s 4X.

the first card is always hard to get cos its like a blank piece of paper, most banks waiting for either one to start the ball rolling first.

not sure how it works now.

Max per bank is up to 10x for un-collateralised credit line.

Usually the bank spilt it into 2x for credit cd, 2x fro credit line, and 6x for renovation loan. If you dont take credit line and reno loan, then its based on your credit report and history with the bank. Some bank do give 6-10x for credit cd.
