Need some expert advice, I was thinking of getting a pre-owned watch, which I see theres a few good condition on carousell. Tempting coz can get the same watch but a few thousand off the price.

Is it advisable to get it off the 2nd hand market? And if i do it, how do i authenticate that its the real thing? Getting the moonwatch.

Its my first pricier watch that I'm getting, so kinda out of my depth here

Depends, I myself prefer brand new pieces but getting 2nd hand can save you substantial amount,you can meet seller at top hour for verification I'm not wrong 50 bucks .

For this kind of 1k Swiss watch would prefer it to be ETA/Sellita. At least you don't have headache when sending it in for servicing.

the 2nd link was the current series which is ETA, their new in-house will be via first link which only launch via kickstart on 15th Oct .. bronze watch

I bought my srpe03 yesterday!! But somehow I feel that the maker is slightly off Centre at the six o’clock mark. My wife says it gives character to the dial :-(

Don’t think can exchange. So just live with it. Lol My first seiko!

Back in the day, swatch Center used to do free serial check and open-case authentication at a cost. Not sure if they still do it now maybe call them and find out.

The general advice is to buy the seller. Buy from someone reputable (although there is still risk there, but generally reduced because their reputation is on the line).

Also can search around to see what's the "latest news" regarding the state of fakes. I know some watches don't really have good fakes that are exact matches, so you can tell just by looking.

Generally checking the movement is the best way to be sure (although that part can also be replicated quite closely nowadays)

I don't think I'd posted the two Tissot I'd gotten...
Tissot RRC 200 Autoquartz (caught my eyes as I've not heard of an automatic watch that has quartz movement)

And a Tissot PRS 200 Silver Dial, just love the way it looks...

These two were bought before the G-Shock, so I think I hit quota liao.....so, sumpah, no more!

Just pay for full servicing, he will do it. Regulations can't earn much to be honest, I also won't do.

Personally feel that it's overpriced for what it is. Would rather pay for a Steinhart. The bezel lock is cool and unique but not practical when you think about it.

Yeah, their in-house is actually a eta base movement clone but bigger similar to the seagull movement. Yema ah Yema... No wonder close case back.
