I buy watches to wear, not for their resale value

The grey market previously was to help sellers find a buyer for their watches at a reasonable price (I picked up a few nice pieces like a Hublot at a nice discount), not help flippers push up prices even more
lol everyone says the same thing till the prices skyrocket.
hublot still are 40% off it's retail price till today (because shitt3r brand)
grey market goes both way. if demand is high, supply low, prices definitely goes up. Not only luxury goods, cameras, cars etc works the same way
always remember, who causes the grey market to flourish and goes above RRP, it's the end user that caused the market to shift by willing to pay above RRP for a daytona to cut waiting time.

for your case, just suck it up and wait lor. see what happens, if our satki hwaa can have, maybe you also can have. good luck waiting.

lol ask me wait 5 years for a watch, no need 5 months i lose interest already. don't have, don't buy. can afford,
buy grey, wear already, got bored, sell probably lose alittle (if lucky can earn), call it a day.

Dunno why you think grey market is for that purpose.

Flippers have always existed. If you go to any hot soccer matches overseas, there are scalpers at the gate (not a soccer fan). Let's not forget Hello Kitty McDonald toys. Think you need to open your eyes a bit and remember.

It's just that it has become easier and easier in certain areas (e.g. online concert ticket sales, limited edition watches, sneakers, etc) to grab the limited supply item, and also to resell it (Carousell as a platform is much easier to use).

Of course, you also have jokers that flip nobody want items like oximeters... LOL.

What i find funny are certain people like bwaysaikryptonite who go around complaining nonstop about grey market prices, and flippers. YOU are contributing to that inflated demand. If you don't like it, don't join in. It's the simplest answer ever. Your life frankly isn't made worse off if you don't have a Rolex Submariner, or a Tudor Black Bay when it's fresh out of the oven. You can always wait until the hype dies over, if it never does, no loss; if it does, then you get what you like. This is the true test of your motivations - if you really just want the watch and are not simply joining in the hype, hope that it burns out (like Panerai did). Or if it never burns out, then just be glad you're not paying a price that you're not happy with. It *is* THAT simple.

The only time when scalping is morally wrong is when it is an essential item. Like there's a war, and you are hoarding all the rice. Or there's haze, and you're hoarding N95 masks. Or it's free, and balloted with the assumption that the people balloting actually want to go, e.g. NDP tickets. Anyone who argues that luxury watches fall into either of these categories needs to get their head checked.

Yup, I am not in a rush - if have, good, else life goes on

I am not a lesser person if I don't wear a Sub (happy with my Omega Seamaster 300m)

Anyway, the resellers are not flippers, but more like scalpers these days :ROFLMAO:

Just making a joke on why JLC is only recognised / known for their reversos and not their other models like polaris reverso MUT etc etc...
Quite common phenomenon; to many people AP only have Royal Oak, PP only have nautilus aquanaut, Tudor only have black bay, Oris only have aquis, etc...

because AP loves to push the Royal oak. lol 1159 is a failure. the rest slowly died out since AP isn't putting any attention on them

PP naut and aquanaut are their sports, so naturally people would know since the hype.
PP grand complication not tom dick harry can appreciate and afford.

Ironically the 3 hands stainless steel 5711/1A in the secondary market costs more than the entry grand complications 5327 (gold, perpetual calendar), which is horologically ridiculous. But alas grand complications don't share the mass appeal of sports watches.

Personally AP has lost its appeal with me. The good old days of watchmaking seems to be lost with AP, the black panther is just ludicrous.
