Only like their earlier or higher end models, which are still seeing strong pricing on the second-hand market. The latest entry level models' hands (e.g. 17.09) are too cartoonish - quite a confused watch design-wise in my view..

The quartz variant of mine would be model ref 2221.80. I'd say go for it. It's a very versatile and comfortable watch. A timeless look to it too and the wave dial is a beauty. Here's the quartz version, ref 2221.80.

Thanks for replying. I’m interested in the black dial. I’m a found one seller selling around 2.5K.

I only have a couple of cheap watches that my family gave it to me. I currently contemplating if I should buy now or wait, with the 2.5k money I have to invest in one good US stock to flip for cash when stock drops. Appreciate your advice

Yup. No choice. Auto is not accurate, power reserve and lots of money to service parts.

Well to be fair, I've had no issues with accuracy on my Omega's. Their accuracy is pretty spot on for being automatic. The Co-Axial calibre is superb imo. I wouldn't be wearing them daily if their accuracy is off.

And with regards to getting it used, yes for quartz or the older models, getting them used is the best since they aren't in production anymore. Plus you do get some bang for your buck for a used Omega especially if it's still in good condition or recently serviced. Can't go wrong tbh.

Quite nice on my wrist. But I always have the worry of buying something and on hindsight, I could have done this or that. Ended deciding not buying at all.

went to MBS' Tudor to try on the Ranger and the Pro, looks nice on the wrist size wise, but a bit surprised when the SA said there's no stocks and need to be on the waitlist...

I got the ranger, but not getting wrist time for me. So likely letting go. Impulse buy. Out leow, I backside itchy ask my AD can sell me boh, and there I go, got it leow but now a bit not for me. hee.

Will let go at a loss anyway.

There’s some magical feel to automatic. It has no battery required and could be powered perpetually simply from pure kinetic energy with an extremely efficient energy conversion. All in the form of such a tiny mechanism. Can understand why Einstein appreciates automatic watches so much.

I appreciate the craftsmanship of automatic . Its just the maintenance of the watch and the power reserve. Makes it more practical for me get a quartz.

Bro wore a Seiko presage automatic. Initially he wear it everyday, but for the past two years. I haven’t seen him wearing. So that’s why I’m keen to look for a well designed quartz. Tag and Longine still makes new watches. But I prefer Aqua Terra quartz or quartz seamaster.

I’m working from home most of the time, thus don’t need to wear it everyday. I don’t mind that leaving my quartz running actually. I have a few cheap quartz running continuously.

I wanted to have more cash to buffer in case I wanted to take a break or fired by company etc.

I am not saying you mind leaving then running. I am just saying if u leave then unattended and forget to change battery, leaks can lead to costly repair. My tag leak and movement replaced and dial replaced, Watch bought like $800 but repairs is like $500. In my case I did all my service with Tag and I wore my watch but didn’t see battery low indicator. My lesson is change battery 2 yrs regardless if low indicator shows. Battery change cheap, repairs crazy high.

That is my concern as well. But I’ve seek multiple advice from watch dealers. They told me to replace every 16 months regardless battery is working or not.

Last time I did in impulse, but I’ve learned to take time to think first. After all this is a used watch. So I told the owner to get the watch validated before I can consider buying from the seller.
