Watch observers, is the second hand market good to enter now?

I see some AD/manufacturers raise prices for new watches, but the second hand market prices are so much cheaper now. A bit tempting to dip my hands into the second hand market.

Hope to see some advice here

No one can tell bah.. When price will go up, when price will come down..

My advise is : If you wanna get a watch that you like, and the price is lower now.. Just get it.
If you are looking to buy and invest and hope price will up again - This i dunno.. your money, u judge yourself. ifme, if wanna invest, i will look elsewhere like stocks, gold, etc.

I am not the watch investor kind. A nice watch is to appreciate its beauty and mechanism. But i have limited budget and definitely cant overpay for watch as likely i will not sell collectible

Overpay or not really depend on you.. some feel 100k not over pay.. some feel 10k is overpay..

If you not looking to invest or flip.. Than i would say buy it when u think its the right price that you are willing to pay...
No 1 can tell if its good to enter the market now.

After buy. dont care about the market price if go up or down.. ( Make no sense for you since you are not looking to invest.)

Overpay or not does not depend on me, i am not so powerful. It is market dependent. I would honestly say that I hate paying for an expensive stuff only to see it goes down another 50% in the future. I am not an impulsive buyer as well, definitely not depend on how I "feel" and definitely not in a marketplace that I am not familiar. If I do, I would be a speculator.

I don't mind though, buy an valuable watch and see prices go down a bit more then subsequently went up. This would suggest the watch has a price floor and I didn't really overpay for it.

Maybe put it this way, a watch is like a car. It is not an investment but definitely something I would not enjoy overpaying for

Just my point of view. Nothing personal.

If i like a particular model, after checking out (be it AD or grey) the pricing is something i willing and can afford. I will just get it. Its is a luxury item, its not an investment.
If by buying an luxury item you need to consider the valuable if stay within, will grow or drop.. how many percent etc etc.. I deem it as you are not ready for luxury item.

There are better movement watches and cheaper.. omega etc ..

And in my view, a watch is not a car..
In singapore.. Car only depre.. easily each year 12k up..
owning a car in singapore is consider more rich than owning a rolex..

after owning a car for 3 years, you lose easily 36k..
After owning a rolex for 3 years, i may lose a few K.. i may earn a few K..

Thank u. U are much closer to my thoughts. Why i compare watches to cars is that i actually made money buying cars (rise in COE) but never had consider them as investments.

I am also thinking that I may not be ready for a Rolex watch yet. Point taken as well

Price in grey market is real price. Price in AD is not. Regardless of brand.

To hedge against watch price depreciation you can tag your purchase with another asset. Eg buy a Rolex and some stock of same quantum. They cancel each other out. After 10 years your watch is free.

Well cars do depreciate the moment you drive out of the showroom. When I look at the watches I own, the price I paid for them does not cross my mind at all. You buy them, wear them and look at them with a smile. That's what watches are in my opinion. Collecting watches is a funny thing - don't use too much brain. Just follow your heart and buy what makes you happy. Life is already complicated, don't let a watch add to the misery haha.

What do you mean by strong? Heuer has a provenance with a few iconic models in their lineups.
Grand complications wise, they may not be prolific, but then look at Rolex…..
