Normally dress watch should not go beyond 40mm (ideally 38mm and under), all dial and no bezel means will wear large.

not so thick just that i'm tall & big boned.

I wear anything less than 39mm looks funny.

I tried both sizes and for some strange reason, the 41mm sits well on my small wrist. Maybe due to 9mm lug and the way Chopard engineered the integrated bracelet. This piece truly no regrets to get.
