My wrist is about your size, but i think the Omega Seamaster 40mm fits nicely on me wrist.
Why dont you go to the AD to try out the different sizes..
sometimes the lugs play a part... eg the AP RO 39mm fits big due to the lugs

Who says? It's a matter of personal taste.
You can argue, and I personally feel the same way, that it looks strange
if the lugs hang out beyond the wrist. But if you don't mind that then go for it. And what has thickness got to do with it? You can get very thick dive watches which aren't very wide. I'd say those are ideal for people with narrow wrists and huge hands --- plenty of people like that out there.

Hi fellows, the slimmest part of my wrist is only 16cm. Does that mean I can actually forget about wearing big-name watches? Since I notice their dials usually start around 40mm & up.

At the moment, I'm wearing a Seiko5 model whose dial is only 36.5mm (& it fits my wrist nicely).

How big name?

I wore 42mms before.

Watch was big relative to size of wrist.

Good taste is also a question of proportion

def. impossible for omega. 1k budget, u can look at some quartz watches. even though its not the thing for watch aficionados.

maybe B&M, tag also.. 1k+ is possible, if im not wrong. if not just get a fashion watch aka clothing brands that sell watches.

you have same wrist size as me. big name brands, no problem. sure have sizes for you. AP, IWC, you name it.

40-42 is good for me, the rest I feel too big.

I agree. I too have been blessed/cursed with skinny-ass, girly wrists. I have a Tissot Visodate, which is 40mm in diameter and about 47mm lug-to-lug. I also have Seiko which is 42mm diameter and 50mm lug-to-lug. They both fit my wrist just, any bigger/longer and there will be visible overhang. Strangely, the Visodate looks longer, probably because it has straighter lugs - the Seiko's lugs are nicely curved and fit very well.

If that watch is 36.5mm, you really shouldn't be looking for anything larger than 40mm unless they tend to have wide bezels. Besides, lug to lug distance will greatly dictate the watches that would suit you.

The 38 works better for you. 42 seems way over, notice the hanging lugs. Also, the lack of a bezel increases the dial size and makes the watch visually larger. That's just my opinion anyway, YMMV.

I find that taking close-ups of wrist shots tend to enlarge the watch, ie the watch looks bigger in the photo than in real life. Basing visual size on photos may not be accurate.

But in any case, based on the supplied pics, the 42mm looks too big and the 38mm looks just right. My hope/wish is that the era of oversized watches will pass someday soon...

What is your wrist size???

Sometimes camera angles can make it misleading. With a wrist size, would be easier to judge also. From pictures alone, the 38mm looks better.
