OOT a little. Wouldn't recommend a Porsche personally. My family car is a Panamera and it has been in and out of the workshops a few times. Then again, my previous 3 series had the same problem 10 years ago :( Mercs is probably a better choice :)

what happened? I have two other frens who own the cayenne (and several others with other models) have absolute no complaints about their cars. One is a turbo and one a GTS. One is from AD and one from PI.

Cars, like watches, sometimes by luck one. A colleague last time bought a corolla and it broke down every month. he gave up after 8 months and bought a chevrolet. No problems for a good 5 years before he sold it.

edit: come to think of it.... I don't have friends who own the panamera so I haven't heard any problems about that car. care to share? AD or PI?

Agree! Sometimes life serves a lemon, some have good experiences whilst others have bad ones.

We tested a few sedans like the Panamera, Rapide & Quattroporte but in the end the S350 wins out of versatility. Bench rear seats, maintenance and just all round feeling that you can leave it anywhere and not worry about curious hands.

Sorry for the OT. :)

One more OT hahaha
Ya the bench seat was my priority. I have two toddlers and a helper. And my wife. My choices were down to the QP and Cayenne. Then this merc came along at a good price. Just took it.

So far so good.

Still cant decide if its the patek or AP now.

I was just toying with an idea - own a symbolic piece of each major brand. If I have the means.

Say, a black sub for Rolex? An AP RO? Omega moonwatch? What about VC, PP etc?
One of my friend embarked on this project sometime ago.
Rolex sub , omega moon watch , AP ROO, Patek nautilus, jlc reverso and a few others. Every watch is an iconic representation of r the respective brands

Two merc fans huh...maybe i should test drive the E class to get a feel.

No lah... Just my family prefers their usability. Looking at British now. :)

Back to watches. Never liked APs but the skeleton ones are really nice! Only issue I have is not AP's fault but mine, is my small 6.25" wrist. The lug section do protrude out quite a bit. :(

AD. Sorry I don't know much about cars but there seems to be some issues with the gearbox with its constant whirling noise and gear change issues. Its driving my dad crazy. :(

Panamera is the PDK aint it? Never really trust these dual clutch boxes. I had my fair share of problems with my 156 selespeed. Good old dogbox and auto still the best.

Am I right to say men who likes watches, likes cars too?

I had this idea as well. This may be a common idea among watch collectors especially when there're so many models out there.

AP boutique just sold their steel skeleton this month.

I did put my name down and asked them to call me if a new piece came in.

Tried on the ROC RG and retried the Skeleton RG.

Man, the ROC RG is a fine piece as well.

I think he doesn't have VC yet... another one is blancpain fifty fathoms ... few others I can't remember... pretty nice and impressive collection I must say and totally no duplication where brands are concerned as every watch is a different brand

These 3 are the heavy weights ... Rolex and omega are more entry level as compared and easier to attain
