I'm kinda new in this German watch thing and would like to seek some advice here.

Looking at pilot watches i.e Archimede , Stowa , Loca.

Kinda like Stowa because of all the glowing reviews and the good lume of course the casework definitely but the lead time is 3 months?

Archimede is cheaper and it's made by ickler <--heard it's satki

Stowa and Loca is 2 of the 5 companies that are commissioned to do make the pilot watches during WW2.

What do you guys think?

Thanks

Spartanz.

Anyway, the new iwc aquatimer design is ugly

Get the stowa its worth the wait. Jorg is trained as a jeweler, watchmaking to him is much like making jewelry.
I wouldn't go for laco, getting pricey

Ickler case is crafted from a steel block not stamp. Less stress stronger.
Issue is movement is not decorated and uses standard grade iirc, stowa is elabore a grade up but stowa ensure its regulated.

So Stowa is crafted like ickler achimede?

Also, what for the casework, SS or Titanium ( for work use - indoor ) . I heard SS is more hardy, TI look more limited edition but easier to scratch.

Also, winding vs automatic for <1,000 euro . Is turning 20 times a day a chore ? I heard most high end watches are winding. How about serviceability for both locally? Anyone can do? Cost for servicing for winding and auto?

Stowa case is made by fricker, from what I read fricker had china cut out the case blanks and milling is done in Germany on a CMC machine much like ickler

I would go with steel, if u love to play with your watch spend 1 min every morning is not a chore.
I love to wind my watches.
Eta and Unitas u can get them service locally by JW watch. Fees don't know they increase over the yrs too.
Just note a Unitas is non hacking cannot stop second hand
