Btw, pardon my amateurish question, but may I know if all brand-new 1st-hand watches come with a protective film over the glass? 1 of the shops that I patronise, had an owner being pretty nonchalant in taking out that piece he had on hand & wiping the glass with a random cloth (I know it's sapphire & all that...but still...) & I notice that it has no plastic film over the glass...

Or for "luxury" watches (even the lower-tier brand names & the entry-level models), this film-on-glass thing is not applicable?

Advice is, dun buy if u feel need precautions :D

I usually avoid buying stuff from lucky plaza. In my opinion, those peeps there have been in the biz for so long, no amt of advice will help u guard against them one.

You have a point, but the model I'm looking for is rather, hard to find. On the other hand, most folks "not-in-the-know" generally have a similar vibe, i.e. the need to have precautions, when patronising Sm Lim Square shops, but...that's not to say that there are indeed, a few decent businesses there, if you are "in-the-know". Too bad I'm not that familiar with the watch scene locally. I would goto THG, Cortina or Sincere though,if I really want piece of mind (for the authenticity; not the price) but I actually called up THG & they told me they do not carry Fortis (& I'd suspect the other 2 companies will similarly not do so)...

Actually, u walk over to Far East Plaza, there is a few 2nd hand watch dealers there the price I think better.

U can go and checked up.

Thank you for your advice, but I'm looking for first hand units.

Nope airport shop doesn't discount. So u only get 7% gst off. Lower than AD discount.

First auto / mechanical watch! was fully intending on buying the tissot heritage visodate but after seeing and trying it on, decided that I like the look of chunkier watches. Ended up going for PRC200 auto chrono instead :D :D
