Any independent watch service here. I wan try my luck at servicing my fathers vintage citizen xD

i serviced my vintage titoni (about 50yrs old) at bendemeer $160. The 'uncle' replaced my scratch glass, fixed the inside, new original crown and new clasp for the bracelet and waxed/ polish. apparently he specialized in titoni so he has the parts.

not sure about citizen..

k2 at tanjong katong complex specialize in seiko.

i think if you come to a watch forum you are looking to buy a real watch. most fashion watch don't require advice because you are not going to wear it for very long. if you seek advice, i think you are looking at quality watch brands that maybe you will wear until can pass down to next generation kind.

you are looking for timeless design, quality movements, brand names that you can associate with and of course price range of your budget.

Of these 3, pick Seiko.

I prefer this one with cleaner watch face.

For those $100-200 watch range like the ones above, you all will buy from Amazon or local shops?

IMHO

your dad, myself... been there, done that. We probably learnt from life experiences that we should just save and get the best; or the next best.

what your dad probably forgot was the journey - letting you walk the route yourself.

honestly if I can turn back time I'd just forget all the other watches and get a black sub first. but I wouldn't have learnt this lesson if I hadn't gone down this path.

like i said before....enjoy the process ;)
