I am eying for a AP ROO Chronograph....................:o

I was just asking in another forum..... are preowned AP prices coming down? never really followed them though. The reason I am asking is because my impression of them are always above 20k but lately I see quite a few going below 20k..... or am I mistaken?

Watch gurus, can review on Tag Heuer Calibre 36 & 1887? Is the calibre 36 modular or integrated ar?

seems like this one is modified zenith movement:

TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre 36 Flyback First Look | The Home of TAG Heuer Collectors | CARRERA

this thread doesn't have many Tag supporters, most people post about cheap and cheerful watches (tissot etc) or more dressy and "uncle-y" makes. you'll have better luck reading articles on The Home of TAG Heuer & Vintage Heuer Collectors | Calibre 11 if you're interested in Tag. :D

Also try: http://www.onthedash.com/thoughts/introducing-carrera-calibre-36/

But on the front page it's stated no extra charges on credit card usage.
I remember shopping there (was it yodobashi or komehyo....or...?) actually had 免税 counters to refund your taxes in cash on the spot. Had done it quite a few times. Whereas most of them will deduct the 5% tax. I don't remember being added any extra for credit cards usage, but I do remember having some problems with my AMEX. Usually they will ask you for a PIN, but since we have none, just tell them "na-i" or "na-shi" or just hit the enter button. But the AMEX card got repeatedly rejected. I had to call the number on my card and it was still not solved. In the end used my JCB card.

I now have a new target-The royal oak skeleton Rose Gold. Will go jackroad to check if they have it there.

The ROO series are either you love it or don't. I had a choice to pick up the rolex daytona everose full gold watch 116505, but i opted for the 44mm novelty forged carbon instead.

Zero regrets even though the perceived value of having a gold watch seems to be "more worth it"

AP watches can hold their own class.

If you are talking about G series ROO , they are all around 19k for used ones. It also depends on condition and the type of ROO. Pandas are usually much more popular than say Navy for instance.

yes if you turn a few pages back I am considering between the GMT full gold and the 5712.

I personally think the 5712 is a much better choice to go with.

Rolex full gold, with the exception of the ever rose model is a little too gaudy imo.

I feel the everose looks kind of strange on my wrist. For now I'm tending towards the 5712 as well.

Very nice piece. Initially i was thinking of getting the 5980R, but i think i'll hunt for the AP skeleton in the grey market space.

Really love how it wears on my wrist.

haven't been there, but prices are really very attractive, not to mention the 5% tax rebate (for the case of Japan, the purchase has to be above 10,000 yen). I'm not sure how jackroad gives the rebate though - in the form of straightforward discount or cash rebate.

Jackroad gives the discount upfront. The watch might be a grey import however, with the original retailer's stamp on the warranty card. On the day I visited, they had a mandarin translator as they were expecting PRC tourists. You can contact them beforehand to make sure they have the exact model in stock.

Very very nice. The steel one doesnt even look half as good. Probably with the lighting too.

I dont really like how the AP looks. IMHO its too colourful and some versions look like a G shock. It all Lies in the eye of the beholder.

Have my eyes on the Nautilus 5712 for now.
A nautilus with bracelet can be a good candidate as a 1 watch. Elegant enough for the black tie event and rugged enough to go with t shirts and berms. A very refined and expensive 1 watch no doubt.
