Thanks!

I have quite a collection of Titan watches including one claiming to be world's thinnest in titanium.

When time comes, I would like to share the pictures here.

World thinnest titanium watch certainly got me sitting up.

For me, sub is the penultimate james bond, macho man and suave dude imagery that made me want to own one and shamelessly imagine it will make me a 'better' man. That's y i bought my sub and no regrets. Like u said, what the heck, I enjoy it and that's most important to me.:D

Uncle spotted :D
For me the James Bond association with watch started with Pierce Brosnan wearing the omega seamaster, even though I'm not that young"..:s13:

I am not that old to hv known the sub thru james bond, not tat i m young.. But it just has the masculine appeal to me. N the james bond factor sealed it for me. Mine's a 16610 tho... Not the purist james bond watch

For me, the omega seamaster just dun have the aura to match up. Anw hope u join the sub club soon!

Didn't know about James bond and sub too. The only reason I aim sub is because I feel other than Daytona, sub is the best looking watch for Rolex. And best of all Sub have date lolz

Haha thanks ah! Seamaster really no fight la.

Ian Flemming, the author of James Bond novels did specify that Bond wore a rolex, though no specified model. He himself was known to wear a rolex explorer. Apparently the choice of the sub was by chance because a crew member or producer happen to hv a sub and they thought it was appropriate for sean connery's large frame (he is 1.8, 9ish i think) in an era where watches had small dials and a sports rolex 40mm was considered large.

* Credits to my memory off googled articles

The 3570.50 is considered to be the most iconic speedmaster and a must for every collector. I have owned one for 7 years and despite the abuse I have given it, it still works flawlessly and kept good time. So it's a tough and versatile watch, looks good on leather and Zulu straps as well.
Only thing I dislike about it is the hesalite, scratches easily but then also easily polished out with polywatch. So buy one...highly recommended ;

The original sub wore by james bond did not have date tho.. The current 114060 is the latest iteration of that model.

Thinking of hooting a AP preowned 42mm watch with a budget of $15k, and then have it authenticate at AP Centre for free,

Which model would you experts recommend? Thabks

The only 42mm AP that comes to mind is the ROO. To my knowledge, 15k budget seems abit low to get an ROO even if pre-owned.

The speedy pro is the most value for money chrono bar none.
It's got good looks, a robust and workhorse movement and the history behind it.
The design hasn't changed for the past 50 years and it will probably stay this way for the next 50 ...

It's a watch that can last a lifetime and beyond. Not many watches are as iconic as it and its price is still relatively affordable as compared to the more recognisble chronos like the Daytona etc.

Every omega fan needs one , and many watch enthusiasts has one in their collection too

Omega speedmasters are pretty well-known for time keeping. I once heard that Omega takes so much pride in the accuracies of their speedmasters such that it doesn't even bother to send some of them in for COSC certification as they hold their time much better than the COSC standards.

Good read: http://people.timezone.com/library/archives/archives631659849297633294

Good read: Omega Speedmaster Professional, Stainless Steel Hand-wind [5/98] - TimeZone

While they may have many versions of speedmaster, moon watch is 1 watch u can bet ur last dollar that omega will nv allow to have perceptible visual change made to it.

Even have also a number of years old model. I think $20K would be a more reasonable budget.
