Hmm...so of all the places you listed above. Which one confirm have the blue hands orient star? Or which place is the best to visit for purchase?

blue hand orient star I bought at Aljunied, because Mustafa don't have.
Not too sure about Bencoolen, because during my last visit, some of the watch shops were closed.

Do u agree with him that nowadays 1k to 5k tier watches are all over priced. With that kind of budget it's better to go for vintage, in terms of Singapore's context?

Honestly, what is over-priced?

Take for example, a Pam 382 (Bronzo), when launched, was retailing for about S$12-14k but since it was on a limited run of 1000, now if you want to find a mint piece, you would be paying S$28-30k for it.

To some, they will say "siao", to me, I don't think its over-priced, it is just a willing seller, willing buyer scenario! :)

Another example. If you take a watch and break it down to its individual parts and calculate the value plus the man hours, you may come up with a value that is maybe even 1/10 or 1/50 of the retail price. Does it mean that it is over-priced?

Over-price is a subjective word. It may apply to some and it may not apply to others.

If you think that the price is "right" and have done your reseach/homework, go for it!

I just had this wild idea of how to turn this into a uber sexy piece. Maybe not for guys but for ladies because it involves swapping the bracelet with a cobalt blue leather strap. That electric blue hands and electric blue strap probably gonna turn some heads. (Cos I don't think many guys can pull off the cobalt blue strap)

Or you could match it with a white alligator strap with blue stitching. Though that would probably cost half the price of the watch itself...:D

Dayum! That blued-hand Orient watch is so sweet! Will make the perfect birthday present for the other half.

Thanks guys for pointing it out and also for the where-to-buy info, but does anyone know which shop to go to exactly?

And Anyone wanna do a possible group buy?

Can we get better price for sure for group buy? If yes I am in, available this weekend. Sat noon or early afternoon.

I wouldn't go for the white :s13: Cos I don't like a dirty looking strap...Had a white strap watch before, it seems like no matter how I take care it will still end up dirty:(

Agree. Overprice is subjective to your own perceived value of the watch. Don't go into watches hoping u have picked out some undervalued stock that will appreciate. Buy for what u like n what u can afford.

Overprice is only objective when u r talking about price variance for the exact same watch. Even then, unfair to compare grey vs AD. As for AD discount variances, just hv to suck thumb cannot get more discount if u r not big fish. Reality of life not limited to watch buying.

Not an Orient but my wife ordered a Riviera blue toad strap for her Pam.

My Canary yellow toad strap is in the background, I chose it because it is bright and also matches the gold hands on my Pam.

Since your Orient has a white face, you can try white stitching too.

So guys do wear bright colour straps too! Me included! My daily watch is a free Levi watch that is bright yellow with red digital dial. Matches my personality, I feel! :)

I do have a blue strap, brown keepers, and gold stitching too... More of a dark blue instead of a bright blue!

Over priced for whatever the watch maker has to offer. Watches in the 1k to 5k range don't value add much to their watch after putting in a stock eta. So, it doesn't really worth the money to spend 5k on an exact same movement when you can get some under 1k. Or use the 5k on a vintage respectable brand

Different. Based on my understanding different models have different casing and dial type, some with power reserve function etc some do not. Must ask the pam experts here for detailed explanation.
