Is this the newer variant? That time i tried there was a new variant of the duo face. Bigger size n white face instead of the silver face. I like it but its bigger than the older variant and too big for my puny wrist. Jin moody as i prefer white face

Yeah, I agree that the designs are nice and watches are affordable for me!

Anyone owns an Arbutus? Care to share more on the quality? :o

I am very familiar with Arbutus actually.

MIC movement, many claim it's seagull, I can only confirm they do use swiss parts for their movement, say for example the mainspring and barrel used are swiss made, 2 years warranty should be good enough "insurance".

I have a piece myself, supposedly ETA movement, limited run for this particular model, did a side by side comparison looks exactly the same, oem or not I didn't dig deeper.

I have a particular lobang for this piece, brand new, anyone interest can pm me, non profit.

Arbutus NY and INGERSOLL watches use OEM Chinese mechanical movement. Not seagull. Therefore QC definitely not as high as seagull.

Good thing is that arbutus NY servicing is covered by CRYSTAL TIME in singapore. Better than INGERSOLL n INVICTA.

So If you dont mind OEM china mechanical movements then its a good choice.

I recently bought one arbutus NY for my nephew to reward him on his good results.

Nowadays JLC reverso a bit difficult to tell them apart...
The ones I saw at MBS are mostly reverso square which doesnt appeal to me...

AFAIK majority of the parts for Arbutus have been outsourced to seagull, if anyone is interested to know more I can help check with my counterparts.

This is not the biggest.. Biggest is 48+mm x 30mm (Grande Reverso Duo)..

This is the Grande Reverso Ultra Thin Duoface, which I think is nicer! (46+ x 27+)

Thanks Henabi and Andy0601a for the information on Arbutus!

Btw, can you share what is the damage for this model?

I saw on Arbutus FB page that they are having 20% discount at Tangs Orchard and Vivo till today.

I'm feeling the itch to go down and have a look.. :o:(:s22:

These peeks make it look a tad small but the measurements (46+ by 27+) say otherwise.. Definitely have my eye on this :p

Reverso is definitely small by modern standards and that's why any new reverso models rolled out by jlc are inevitably "grande", "taille" etc.

Hi everyone

I'm headed to US - Chicago next week for a business trip. Anyone knows if watches are cheaper there or any particular shop I can visit to look see look see?

Thanks.

I also tried on the reverso before and my skinny wrist also cannot fit due to the leather strap... haiz... :(

Huh. Buay sai adjust or anything?

The "funny" thing about the JLC Reverso is that the lugs taper at a 45 degree angle and the original strap has a plastic tab that forces the strap to be in line with the 45 degree lugs.

Hence you cannot have the strap at a right angle to the lugs to fit your wrist.

Here's a photo that I borrowed from Passions:

Here's the strap plastic tab from my well worn strap (which I threw away).

Here's a replacement strap, which I got from JnS, it doesn't have the tab inside the strap. Still alright but the lug ends protrude out a bit since the strap can be bent at a right angle, to fit my puny wrist.

Still doesn't look good on my puny wrist though.

What's the case length for that model?
