Yeah, that's what i meant. More classic (which is what the day date represents)

totally agree. would def get one next time......

the reason I sold this daydate was it was attracting too much attention at work. even people from other branches knew me as the "full gold rolex guy" (I usually wore it with the president bracelet).

a month after buying the 5712...... here's my feel (not as if you care hahahaha). I wear it almost everyday.

- it's a subtle watch. Than say.... my old Rolexes. I remember how ppl will eyes big big and look at my full gold daydate but not many will take a second glance at this 5712.

- it's a loud watch. For those in the know. Especially at watch boutiques. I've even been complimented by a couple of very pretty SAs about the watch and all (yes I know it's sales talk but can you guys just let me hallucinate for a while? hahahaha)

- it's a very light watch. more used to the weight of the daytona, mr roboto, etc that I have

- it's a very heavy watch. psychologically. so darn afraid to get it scratched.

Ya. Daydate gold on gold is screaming for attention.. Leather strap helps to keep it more subdued but still distinct. Well, u can always buy again when u feel ready for it again

wah very nice.
maybe u can sell the strap for USD200 so no issue liao hahaha just joking.

take it, buddy. It's YOURS.:D

Haha, can't sell the strap, comes as a set. I have to think about it, this current seller beat me to it last month from the previous owner/seller and now wants to sell it to me for a profit of usd300. :s22:

Wow looks nice! Realized steinhart has some nice models. Where can view them huh?

Gnomon watch at shaw house @ bugis carries Steinhart but I believe most of the models are sold out now.

It's subtle because only people in the know knows about Patek. Many of my friends are surprise when I tell them there are brands better and way more expensive than Rolexes. Could you bring it for me to molest when we have a gathering. :D

Send your car for servicing???

Wow.... nice collection of rolexes and also the black sub too

Actually i take the train to work everyday. And before 7am got free ride mah.

I just hate to squeeze with ppl and I love sitting at the cafe and watch the streets get busy. I do this even on vacations. Just a little quirk of mine :)

A word of warning --- a lot of the hard-core watch people really really hate the day-date, in any of its incarnations. Not suggesting that you should care --- and I'm not interested in another Rolex-bashing episode --- but you should know this, if you don't already!

Got an offer to sell me the stainless steel model Steinhart limited TSF edition.. what do you guys think of it? I've been searching for quite a bit but it exceeds my budget of usd1k by usd200.

True also. Only 44 of stainless steel were made. I'll have to consider more. Maybe squeeze some discount out of the seller. Above usd1k not worth it I feel, may as well get a stowa.

"Final?" don't speak too soon.
The next watch is just lurking around the corner. You never know what lies beneath when you visit a watch shop.

By the way, did you manage to the get the SKX009J?
