It's certainly very solid. I still have it. But it's out of battery. Thinking of getting it up running again. Anyone can advise where to go and get it serviced and touch up

Service center at Somerset 111 I think... if go thru casio AD will take 2-3weeks...
Going down next week to get my protek serviced too.

I'll take the iwc. The le petite prince edition looks really classy. I feel that it lends a bit more versatility to one's wardrobe as well.

Both are really on the ends of the spectrum though as you pointed out.

better hope they have the spares for the breakable parts like the plastics on caseback in case they fk up

Gs are all the while ahead of its time in terms of size even in the 1980s

but recent years their size really getting ridiculously big for the sake of it. no functional purpose at all

finding a machomama looking metal digital watch is hard these days. digitals are either condemned to plastics watches or those sleek business look like the Seiko Spirits or Venturas.
Suunto Elementum and Protrek Manaslu also look too business-like and are hugeeee

Indeed very diff, comparing diver w pilot. Personally prefer pilot since i own a dive watch alrd. But rather have the mark XV or XVI. The XVII date indicator not my type of thing. Iwc should keep all fanciful details to the chrono.

mark xvi looks the best among xv, xvi and xvii.

but hard to find a brand new one nowadays ;/

something abt the SM500 tear drop hour hand makes me love it irrationally tho

Under 5 yr warranty, ship back to them.
CW pays for the cost anyways.

After the warranty u can get it service by JW watch or others 3rd party places

But if just changed battery, any watch shop will do unless it's using special battery like those solar type.
