Hi bros

I remember from many threads ago, there was a discussion about a famous street in Japan that sells watches? Can anyone share the street again? Thanks

Also is Rolex in japan relatively cheaper than sg?

It may be cheaper due to the weak yen but now the yen is strengthening.....
Some shops charge for credit card usage but we are eligible for 5% tax rebate (spend 10,001yen and above), and rem to bring your passport to the shop.

U can search for these (sorry hard to type here, using handphone now)
Kamekichi
Jackroad
The above two are at nakano; u take the JR chuo line from tokyo it's abt 14stations away. From the station u find your way to broadway nakano and the shops are on the 2 or 3 floor.

House kiroiba (spelling) this one in shibuya i'm not too sure of the exact location but its walkable from JR shibuya station.

Sigh really hope I can squeeze out time to go have a look too this march.

Hope this helps, and do take pics while you're there! :)

Or shd I top up a few K more for PANDA, safari or black theme?

U have been asking about ROO for awhile and obviously have done your research and already have something in mind. Get what u like best. Go try on your wrist if u haven't already done so.

To begin with, buying ANY ROO is alot of $ and u should only take the plunge if financials pemit... Why buy the diver only because it is the cheapest if u really prefer a panda or safari?

oh last week I asked; no stock.

yeah, even the boutique at mbs also, iirc...

but can try the 2 ADs in people's park complex? they are on display at one of the ADs (unless even those are snatched!)

not the most glam places compared to mbs or ion.

the bb & pelagos are popular models, do expect little discount.

the difference b/w the ROO chronograph and the ROC is the placement of the subdials and the date magnifier.

the ROO chrono has subdials in the 6, 9 & 12 o'clock positions and has a round magnifier over the date aperture at 3 o'clock position.

while the ROC has subdials in the 3, 6 & 9 o'clock positions with date aperture b/w the 4 & 5 o'clock hour markers. no magnifier.

be careful when you've your heart set on the speedy.

the hardcore purists will insist on full original pattern with the hesalite (aka "atas plastic") crystal.

but know that while it is shatterproof compared with sapphire crystal to satisfy an essential requirement for space missions, it is a horrible scratch magnet.

so unless you're prepare to always have a tube of polywatch to rub over the hesalite crystal to "heal" the scratches, i suggest you consider the speedmaster "sandwhich" which has sapphire crystal for both the watch crystal and display caseback.

at least it'll be scratch resistant and you get to admire the movement.

it'll cost a bit more but my choice will be for the speedy sandwich. hesalite and polywatch tedium just don't do it for me. authenticity here is over-rated, imo.

Indeed previously went by peoples park centre and saw certain R models that were oos at ADs available there.

The speedy pro with hesalite crystal retail just below $6k. Sapphire glass with thru back think is slightly over $7k

Thanks for your reply. Hesalite was also one of my key deal breaker. I am checking out on the overhaul costs needed plus the price of pre own piece, and deciding if it would be worth to purchase a brand new one instead.
