hopefully man. have not worried this much since the last time DJIA shed 500pts in a night.... in 2011 (july ?). too many triple digit losses lately.

nonetheless, just be a bit careful. and hold on to cash.

ah... the problems of the rich are too apparent as well.

while this is a watch apprecation thread, it does no harm for my following comment.

the real savvy and/or lucky ones (or those with a magic crystal ball - don't we all wish to have one!) are those who converted the bulk of their equity or cash holdings into gold before its price spike upwards tremendously and or choice/prime real estate before they became over-valued.

quantitative easing is just another wicked euphemism for black-hearted rampant printing of fiat currency which will eventually debase it (a matter of frickin time - and no fiat currency/"financial instrument" has ever lasted - especially as a store of value), cause runaway inflation and generally destroy the lifesavings of all and bring tremendous hardships especially to the salaried workers and those who depend on their cannot-payout-fund.

anything based on dollars/euros/pounds/yen/any fiat currencies/shares/etc are worth less than the paper they are printed on during a crash.

thus, another reason for the rush to convert plummenting cash/stocks/bonds/financial paper into physical assets (be the watches, gold or real estate).

in volatile times, nothing beats physical assets.

of course, the fortunes of war and changing political landscapes can and has deprived the fortunes of the wealthy. history is replete with such tales. you can only move so much physical assets in times of crisis (and certainly not land when it is under the control of an antagonistic regime), and when you're in the wrong place at the wrong time, poof! all goes your assets.

Today very quiet. All the regulars busy with their investments, no time to PCW on watches!

took leave yesterday and went out with family cos the kids have school holiday. ended up fighting fire today. one after another. morning got one, then afternoon another one, and before I think the day is settled, someone chut pattern again.

I shld just sign up with SCDF to be a fireman.

couldn't even have my lunch in peace. finally cleared all the crap and went to join the queue at the bank to deposit money (actually just want some pte time out of office) and went for a haircut.
