Depends on the watch brands and ocassions bah.
casio. Seiko. Citizen can get from bencoolen.

i remember watching an interview of a CEO of a particular watch brand, one of the Swiss brands if im not wrong, the CEO said that their company does not spend money on marketing at all, or very minimum if there is, they get their advertising from word of mouth, from people who bought their products and is satisfied with it.

Just can't remember which brand already, quite an inspiring interview.

yeah u are right, but i'm sure there are some quality brands out there that hardly spend on marketing and focuses on producing quality watches. Hamilton comes to my mind first, not sure if ud agree with it.

i like the hamilton intra-matic 38mm. very retro, classic, vintage 50s.

very few watchmakers make their own components and movements from the ground up.

anyway, eta is cutting supply to non-swatch group members:

Its swatch disgusting business stratrgy to force thesr small watch groups upthe wall and finally agreeing to be acquired by swatch.

It will be difficult for these companies to switch to miyota or other jap automatic movements. It will mean their watches are not "swiss made"

brand perception for joe public is swiss > asian, even though seiko & orient movements are proven, reliable, value-for-money, inhouse, albeit undecorated & plain.

Panerai is love-hate for most ppl. The unique look means either u like or don't like. Not to generalise, but somehow the ppl i know who like panerai of a similar pattern.

Really? What pattern is that? See if I belong to that pattern.

I wouldn't say most of us who do not like Panerai are bashing it. It is rather that we do not identify with the image or that we look for other things in the watches we love.

Bashers, haters, dislike, don't identify.. the more people who disregard it the better for me. Unfortunately its popularity blew out of proportion. Missed those days when not many people have it. Now I see it as commonly as rolex.

Nice prezzie for your HB to be. Side note, you have a nice palm lines with fortunes n reputation. Gratz.

Just ended doing volunteer work. No joke today.
Gave out food, checking on needy.....discovered one unit that needs cleaning - it hasn't been cleaned for 30years!!!!! Imagine the stench from the fridge!!!

Nobody should deserve to stay in a place like that.

Moved out all the furniture, scrubbed the floor, dumped old stuff (expired medicine dating from 1990s!!! Etc) and finally pushed the furniture back in ....... Now just sitting and stoning at a nearby coffeeshop with iced milo. Really shagged out.

Sad to say, MOST of the volunteers who join us regularly are foreigners. PRC, pinoys, malaysians, etc and only a few singaporeans. Very very few of us. I dunno what to say about this but......just hope more ppl can step up.

Something interesting - the uncle had a datejust with diamond markers, steel bracelet. I found it and shook it a bit - and the old dame moved, just like a true rolex. When i handed it back to him he gave it a long stare and smiled a bit. It was somewhat a touching moment for me because as a watch lover I can feel he probably had a good story to tell about that Rolex.

Glad I didn't drive today. Too tired. Gonna take train back in a while. Have a great Sunday, all!

Im talking about genuine ones. These brands listed as below, whats usually a good gauge about the price of the watch when someone is wearing one of these?
