Went to WINS during lunch time just now. They have the watch on display. Outcome...........................I didn't buy.

The pic looks 10x better than the real one. The real one looks very plain jane in person. Maybe the overall image will be very different after the bracelet is chagned to a blue leather strap.

Will wait for VW's wrist shot...

Orient bambino is better IMO. Around $200 only. In house movement some more. Haha

They have stock or they only have the display piece? How much are they selling at?

Live within one's means, and be happy.

Small fry will grow to big fish sooner or later especially with your capabilities. Btw it's my GF then, now wife who entice me into luxury watches. She was also small fry then at 20 when she bought her first quartz TH. I was only wearing citizen then. ^_^;

The ikan billis here must eat a lot to grow big big into big fish! Haha, wow..what was I wearing when I am 20? :s13:

GS the truly understated brand. To many it's just a Seiko but to the enlightened, it's a mechanical marvel :)

I'm neither. I think sub would be more iconic piece?

Hi for me, I was thinking between, GMT TT, GMT SS, GMT batman, Sub date, Sub hulk, and Sub. In the order of initial preference. Because I do not know of rolex (GMT & SUB) without the cyclops. And I need the ceramic bezel for a flawless bezel permanently.

I tried all of the models. Chose the sub. Looks classic simple daily beater. Something I believe I will still love 20 years down the road. For me, the cyclops is quite a turn off. the larger lumes also make the new sub more balance in my eyes. Batman was interesting but I feel it might be boring to me in a few years time. Hulk is not calling to me.

Oh ya, if you have big wrist, deep sea might be interesting too.

don play play with the Sub and Sub Date owners here ok? otherwise you are asking for trouble, BIG trouble :s13:

Haha I wanna learn more from you all. How to change strap, what straps combo to consider etc. Will be an eye opener for this coming meet up.

They have it on display!?!?!? That time I scanned their entire orient section a few times also never see orient star. Squatted down for like 20over mins...

Well... the clean look attracted me. Followed by its dome shape cover.
Honestly I feel that it quite difficult to find a mechanical watch sporting a dome shaped cover at this price point.
then it is the amount of attention orient spent on the minor details like dial face, the numbering and the hands

Thanks patryn...
I thought watch brands under Swatch group dont really let them operate as an individual company like what seiko did to orient???

They have it on display in their smaller stall 01-74. One compartment of Orient Star. The main store only has Orient.

Actually finds Arbutus makes some nice watches, not sure about quality though. Also the name Arbutus like :s22:.

Myself is considering this Maurice Lacroix

Yeah, I agree that the designs are nice and watches are affordable for me!

Anyone owns an Arbutus? Care to share more on the quality? :o

Happens with watches. Which is why people usually say go have a look and try it for yourself
