Had been chatting with my wife about a dress watch I've been searching for. I showed her our dai gor dai iceflight's 5712R and NOW she says it looks good (she didnt like it initially). Is it weird to get something of the same model but in different metal? The steel or casual wear and the gold one for formal?

Am considering it though.

Sure. Y not?

If you put it in mind with the likes of PPs or ALS then you'll be put off.

Treat as you're getting a secondary watch to your PP... something that you can wear to volunteer work or less formal occasions? Just my opinion and good luck.

I will really not do that... Other patek are just not as nice as the nautilus I agree... Even the higher complication one, probably only the latest blue dial 5270 perpetual chrono will interest me.
Change the taste a bit, look serious at Lange, have another top of the top tier. Dun look at the web pics, physically look at it, the more I look the more I appreciate the details, quality, finishes...... I took a huge portrait of it on my digicam to try to spot for any micro scratches but found none, but instead was blown away by the details when up close..

Many people may not know this but the 5712. Rose gold or ss is always out of stock and only sold mainly to VIP clients

wah. I VIP? didn't know that. but yes, I do know stocks are always low for the 5712. then the more I shld get a 5712R, no? :s22:

I actually did try the ALS before considering the PP - it just didn't work for me.

Well if you're having second thoughts, give the watch a second try? ;)

Of course there are others that are above the exp 1 for your consideration, No?
