Guys, if I buy a 2010 rolex, but it's supposedly BNIB (the seller claimed to put it in the safe with all the plastic still intact) do I need to send it for servicing immediately?

Note a soprod A10 is design to compete with eta 2892.
Most watches contains a eta 2824 a level behind 2892.

i don't think there is a requirement to send it for servicing, unless when you are examining the watch, you saw scratches, dents and other markings on the surface of the watch.

then it's best is to send for authenticity check at a ROLEX shop. only about $100++ iirc

Send it for authentication. BNIB or not, its his words. View the watch and then bargain to a price u are happy paying for. Servicing is probably not neccessary as Rolex are known to run for years without much issue. Basic servicing nowadays is close to 1k.

Go to RSC together to send the watch in under his name, for authentication. Then collect the watch together again (prob the next day; u must be there to ensure it is the right watch u are collecting) and then buyer usually pays the $107 fee if watch is ok, or based on whatever was agreed upon. Then take the watch and stuff and pay the seller.

The next step is crucial - take wrist shots and post here .

As mentioned by Henabi, there's no need to send for servicing. While Rolex recommends a servicing once every three to four years, they generally still work very well even after 10 years without servicing; at least mine still does.

If you want a peace of mind, in terms of authenticity, it cost $107 at RSC. Confirmation is verbal.
