How much is the tax refund in Milan? I emailed a few boutiques but get different responses. From 15% to 22%

eh nvm, I found a nice equivalent - Tissot T-Touch Expert Pilot.

Full EL backlit can relegate to Casio/Timex pieces for rough/outdoor work (and look) liao

Got money to buy why stop? Though I think it's the wrong decision but it's his money or from other sources. If not sure got people suggest troll watches. Many rolexes below $10k. Explorer, Sub, GMT.

emailed the AP boutique in Milan. this is their reply

"Regarding the TAX refund we give you back all the VAT. Deducting 22% from the public price means a corrisponding discount of 18,03 % . Ex 19.900/1,22 = 16.311 (16311/19900)-1= 18,03%"

so the RRP = 122%. they deduct from there. the corresponding "discount" so to speak, is about 18.03%

but i got a totally different reply from the JLC boutique, which told me this:

- as a non-EU resident you can get a 15,5 % of Global Blue Tax Refund (in this case the value is € 2.967,00 on the retail price and you will be refunded one month later on your credit card)

so.. yes i'm still perturbed. i dont know whether the quantum of refund depends on the amount expenditure..?

Highly advisable to pay by cash instead of credit card because I heard of people getting their tax refund very late. So pay in cash and get euros back.

i think the method of refund is separate from the method of payment. one can pay by credit card and also get the refund in cash (euros).

Well, haven't experienced first hand. Handling may vary city to city. If can pay by card and get back VAT in cash that's the most ideal.

Hmm... as much as i would reco the exp 1, i think it may not suit a 20yo just yet imo.

If me, i would get maybe a Pelagos or Speedy moonwatch and save the remaining for something else. BUT it's his cash, hence his decision. Happy can liao.
