There are stowa, steinhart, orient, gshocks, seikos, grand seikos and others shared here too. Horology is not necessarily about big swiss or german brands only..

I never said it's only about the big names leh, to each his own.

I never knew Pam subs are titanium

I think they'd look great in shark mesh though rather than leather or rubber straps

I've yet to appreciate mesh bracelets...never thought about a sub in mesh though.

Guess this is out of production? Not many fine squares around (personally only was drawn to the IWC Davinci) but this is definitely a nice one. Thanks for sharing.

Yes out of production, a bro here has the white one.

But the more rescent design of Zenith port royal (below) should be still available at ADs.

The latest design is unique, the black numbers and markers are actually on the glass and look at that carbon fiber strap  But its pricy, made of titanium. Some review of this watch here

For VAT refund, doesnt matter whether you paid for the purchases in cash or credit. You can still choose to have your refund in cash or credit.

for VAT refund in cash, will have to Q up a 2nd time to get the refund. can be quite time consuming at the airport. sometimes the cash refund counter will run out of euro's and they will give you in other currency. in such cases, the exchange rate can be quite poor

That's informative. Would anyone recommend using cash (payment and refund) for overseas purchases?

Personally I have always thought credit card was no-brainer simply because of the convenience and relative safety. Would be interesting to know if there are actually significant advantages of paying cash overseas instead.

some watch shops can offer slightly better discounts if you can pay in cash.

as for refund, i will opt for refund into credit card as end of the trip dont have need for the cash. unless of cos you have use for that currency.

oh i forgot to add on. refunding in cash will result in lesser refund percentage. i.e paris vat credit card refund is 12/13%(cant remember). if you choose to refund in cash, will only get 10%

Thanks! VAT refund has always been part of the overall price consideration when shopping in Europe. I am more convinced now that credit card is the better way to go in practically every aspect.

Bro, have you tried sourcing from local bros (eg at SWX forum) who can help you get pieces at even better prices than after deduct the VAT?
