great choice on the datograph. it's a beaut.

First choice is still the Zeitwerk. The datograph up/down is priced similarly. But in terms of the chronograph movement, there is no other comparison for this category, not even PPs.

Designed from the ground up.

A second ALS for me and I really don't want any more chronographs...but this has me captivated.

For me, watches is not about how much it costs. The root of my interest in watches is because of my interest in time. Time covers not just current time, but the seasons of our lives. Time is about life. So only watches that can last for life interest me. This is where quality and committment by the brand to be still there and will service my watch matters to me. When I acquire the watches, that is like snap shots of my life. Hence the earlier actually I acquire the watch, the longer it will accompany me through life. I would like to look at my wrist and say, this watch has been with me 20 years, say. For this reason, I strongly suggest anyone who is getting married to get your fiance a watch that is of good enough quality to last till death (till death do you part mah). I regret I wasnt into watches yet (and more importantly had the financial means) when i got married. Also when I go, my watches can serve as memories.

A little philosophical I know...:)
