What's the deal with Mechanical watches? I like them for their movement but it seems that no matter how high end/quality the watch, it still loses time.

Unlike quartz.

If your concern is accuracy, then mech watches are not for u. I am well aware of the irony i m suggesting. Lets just say with clever marketing by the stakeholders n w/o a compelling reason to eliminate mech watches (compared to say cars vs horse carriages), mech watches are a thriving biz and this thread is testament to it.

never used to like moonphase watches but lately i'm warming up to them, particularly with the detail in the moonFACE ...the detailing is just incredible.

While the GO PML is certainly a very nice watch, it is rather unfortunate that it will always be in the shadow of the Lange 1, which it not-so-subtly resembles. Some even say it's a Glashutte Unoriginal.

If you love it in isolation, then it's great. It's a nice piece that's offers a lot of value.

Otherwise, there would always be the nagging sentiment that it's a wannabe...

Just like us FFF owners, haha. Fortunately, the FFF is cheap enough to just treat it like a disposable toy...

Fully agree. If the price differential is large, I may consider this watch. If not, then I will likely save longer to get the Lange.

Well, the price difference is large, not helped by the fact that Lange doesn't do steel watches.

I see it as not a price issue though. Like a vintage datejust, it doesn't suffer from the wannabe syndrome despite the fact that it costs around $2k. Or a Reverso, submariner, Speedmaster...

But at the end of the day, it's all perception. We can all have different opinions and agree to disagree.

Indeed it is. I guess I like being accurate. Technical me.

Usually use my G-Shock unless I am in formal wear. Else I use my mobile but it's a 'hassle'.

I like the smooth movement on the watches which have a nice face and not-so-flash body.

Wonder what's the most accurate mechanical watch out there?

Every mechanical watch within the best of the best brand will have some variances in their accuracy. Can't be too hung up over absolute accuracy or you will not be able to enjoy a mechanical watch for what it is; little man made pieces put together to measure that which we have absolute no control of, time.

That is why man is so obsess with time... cos time moves on and it waits for no man.

There's a slight similarity to the dial of the Grande Lange that I like. What's the price for this watch?

IIRC retail at around 11k or 12k, the discount can be rather big. I remember I got it down to like 9k

I go agree it is machiam the shadow of Lange 1, if that's the case I might as well buy this

I love PML for what it is, I even feel that it is definitely nicer than Lange 1. Plus Lange 1 is in precious metal, if PML is also in precious metal, the price might be quite competitive.

very nice watch. whats the damage?

Rather big watch though :s22:
