no idea. whats your budget like? dont get fooled by the lume shot. if you're just starting out below 400 a seiko would be a good way to start. such as seiko monster.

I like monster but I'm in my 20's and metal bracelets make me look old.

the deepblue t100 series are famous for their tritium always-on lume... different from regular chargeable lume

Are they worthy of their price? Or are other T100 series better?

Not to mention. It's quite big and the sides are shiny which means scratch friendly :(

The Frankenmonster looks good though.

which model are you considering at the moment? and maybe if you list your priorities and concerns, i'm sure the watch collectors here will be willing to chime in!

None at the moment actually.

I'm in my mid 20's. My desired watch would have to be;

1. Simple (just a hour-min-sec hand will suffice)
2. Not surface-shiny (easily prone to scratches)
3. Looks good (not too flashy)

Trying to keep a budget of $300 but willing to wait to get $700 in many many months to come. It's a long journey to find me the right one.

These watches (without metal straps though) are currently on my list.

That's a good start, allow me to paraphrase:

1. 3-handed diver
2. budget up to $700
3. sporty (not dress)

A question for you is the movement - are you looking at a fuss free battery-run watch or a mechanical automatic? The folks on here are mechanical die-hards mostly, but I myself own a couple of quartz pieces for the days where I'm in a hurry or just don't want to bother...

Seiko sumo if your wrist can handle it
Otherwise any monster variations are good

Problem solved.

Do I need a different spring bar. I had an issue with my Casio edifice when I removed the metal bracelet, just putting the sprig bars on would not be enough to place it there, It will drop out from either side.. Because there's hole at each side of the lug..

More or less on points 1-3.

I am on the fence with this one. Quartz seems fuss free but Mech movement is nice and smooth.

I bought this but was quite disappointed with it. Didn't keep time well. I mean to say, if I spend 3 minutes shaking it and leaving it on my table and take it out the next day, it loses time very quickly (sometimes even stops).

I had this notion that a mech watch should be able to run continuously (after shaking it for a good 5 minutes maybe?) for at least 2 days before it stops.

I was wrong.

it's not scratch friendly, call it battle scar

Nice way to put it, but it's a blemish in my eye.
