I vaguely remember it was about 6yrs ago?! I was doing the wedding for an ex-minister daughter and I saw one of the bride's guy friend sporting a very nice moonphase watch. The face was likke 44/46mm.

so during a break in the day. I went up to him and complimented that he has a very nice watch and we started chatting abt watches for the next hour... hahahha...

that's my story on how I knew Arnold n Son.

tbh... I didn't know its an unique luxury watch microbrand

Mass market timepieces not included because everyone know of them even those who r not into watches.. Hehe.. :D

For myself, when I was learning watches, pp was the first exclusive luxury watch I came about.. :)

Girard-Perregaux for me. first luxury watch i notice because of the massive discount from retail price.

Actually the key reason i wore the PP to japan was because I'd be in tokyo. Its a brand ***** place.

The pam would have been perfect for hokkaido. Very easy going and nice friendly folks. I didnt notice anybody taking a glance at my watch there.

But come tokyo.......and especially shinjuku. From the concierge to the father of the other kid at the toys dept, i caught quite a few ppl looking at it. I'm shallow/vain/haolian whatever but that's me.

While I was checking in to the hotel, along came this loud and boisterous fellow on my right. Asian ethnicity but spoke with ang mo slang. Si beh kao peh. I noticed he was wearing the pam submersible that azrielsc has - the ceramic bezel one, and he seemed very proud of it. Kept flashing it......until he saw my nautilus. I wear my watches on my right hand so it was smack in his face. I also caught him staring at it for a long time, so when he looked up I gave him a smile and said "nice watch u have there". He forced a smile and became very quiet after that.

It also happened at GMT. Japs always look down on us SEAsians, so they bochup me initially until they saw my watch. Total 180 degrees change.

Probably shld have brought both watches there but i dunno where to keep the other watch when i'm wearing one.

not so ex lah.. my friend help me got mine just recently when he's in Hong Kong. Think is around S$60.:s13:

but have to kudos to the workmanship, is silent sweeping second hand, date is working, also the lume, quite bright in dark room. Body is stainless steel and glass, only thing no oyster date.

Both don't speak to me although the Zenith appeals to me more......but no date function...

Looking at watches again..? Hold my dog.. So fast the addiction came back.. The Pam is not 1mth old yet.. And was it only 2nd day on new strap~ :eek:

Zenith look nice comparing these 2.. :D
Sometimes super simple watch is nice in its own ways (without date).. :)
