I can't wait to get back to Singapore and get mine modded. I bought the same dial as you (without the date window). It's nice to see that everyone seems to be having a great weekend, especially chickenbackside with his envy inducing pics.
Anyway after a busy weekend with my family and playing with my daughter, I finally had the time to change to the sailcloth strap from bradystrap. All that's left to go is the deployant clasp.

What company? The company is my own = my own pocket... Haha.
Yup mine is a 2nd hand S300, C&C car. Cruise control but no radar. W221 pre-FL. U guys hit the nail on the head!
Change car?!? Still very happy with this car leh. Need to change my parents' and in-laws cars before I consider mine...hahaha....
Wah... Machiam Transformer! The only auto stuff in my car is the gear box, the wipers and the head lights.
when you drive the brera and cooper cabrio, do you often take down the top?
Please, it's nothing.Wah... You own the company?!?
The brera is a coupe. The spider is the convertible. Designed by different people (giugiaro and pininfarina, respectively iirc) but to those not in the know, the spider is termed the "brera spider".
The brera has a moonroof, thats about it. Honestly if u read reviews abt it the headroom is really bad. Mine was the 3.2V6 and yet it sounds worse than my S300 when I floor the throttle. Quite sian. And the autobox was a total letdown. It doesnt know what gear to be best in. But its a damn sexy car and attracts attention everywhere. The FC was horrid. I got like 5.5km/L compared to my S300 about 8km/L; similar routes and driving conditions. It's a grand tourer (i believe) so its more to the comfort side.
The MINI was FUN!!! But I sold it in record time - 6mths? Becos the gynae told us my wife is pregnant......with twins! Hence the car has to go and in came the MPV.
The MINI handles well, cornering and balance are really really good but on some days u want a relaxed drive and that wasnt very nice - even on stock dampers and springs. Top down driving isn't really friendly in sg - i got caught in the jam with the sun up and even behind a rubbish truck before. Not to mention the dust and all......but when the conditions are perfect it's an experience I'd wanna enjoy again. Wife did suggest getting another one now that the kids are older.....see how bah![]()
One more thing very pai sey - my butt was bigger than the MINI's seat so it was kinda painful hahahaha......
OTOT back to watches!!! LOL

thanks for writeup! I thought the brera you had was the spider...
I feel like buying a convertible but is unsure whether I would actually open the topI mean, Singapore is hot in the day and even at night....so better to get some real world opinions from people who owned a convertible before

Hey np buddy
Ok a couple of things to consider:
1) soft or hard top? Soft tops tend to have blind spots towards your left and right rear due to the larger fabric. Still, the fabric is very tough and is not damaged easily - have read abt ppl poking a screwdriver at it only to have it bounce back. Leak wise i have heard stories from both sides so i cannot conclude.
2) roof action. Most cabrio needs the handbrake to be engaged before the top can be operated. MINI and roadsters take shorter time (obviously) but the 1series and A3 and a few others, can have the roof operated while the car is in motion. Damn useful if u are caught in crawling traffic.
3) rear seats. Due to the loss of rigidity caused by the lack of B pillars, most cabrio(and coupes) have a centre "beam" between the rear seats from the back to front (like the RX-8) to compensate. That restricts space. And rear seats are usually uncomfortable: upright seats and no legroom.
4) boot space. Roof up or down; most models boot space is affected by this. Some are separated though.
I personally like the sunroof/soft top 2-in-1 in the MINI. The EOS also does that; not sure abt the rest. All the best!
Btw I rem cbs used to drive a saab convertible...?
P/s something interesting. If it rains, continue driving! The draft (sp) will prevent the rain from drenching u. But once u stop....make sure you have an umbrella ready LOL!!!

I didnt know about the draft thing! Thanks! I was wondering if driving with the top down at night will make you sweat due to heat from the surrounding cars...and do you on the aircon when driving with the top down? I was looking at the 350z roadster, those that have 1 or 2 years remaining![]()
I did consider the 350z before - there are two versions, look for the bumped up bonnet for the higher power one. Cant rem what its called.
Yes some times I wind the windows up and let the air con go full blast. Some cars, once u open the roof, the air con will automatically go full blast.
Actually when u are driving, the wind does cool you down. But honestly quite hard to find the perfect conditions to take the roof down. Has to be cloudy with smooth traffic.
just my 2cThis thread so broad, watches encompass food, travel and transportation. In fact if you go Watchuseek indeed watch interests spills over too. One "watches" to rule them all!
