There's a watch shop in Thomson Plaza level 1 beside the opposite the Chinese restaurant. Anyone been there before?

By any chance, anyone planning to donate their older or lesser worn watches to the needy?

Letting them have a piece of our love...

honestly what the needy REALLY need is basic necessities. In other words, the watch will not help them improve their lives.

They have outstanding SP bills, no money to send kids to school (transport or meals), and even food.

I do have another idea: put up a watch for auction, not with cash, but with other necessities like food, adult/children diapers, milk powder (for children or adult with feeding tubes), etc......

Honestly I couldn't think of any watch I will put up for auction and will draw a good crowd. Looking back, the best chance was the snzh57 but it's already sold anyway. I did consider my swatch irony skeleton but come on..... it's a cheapo watch and don't think ppl will be interested.

if you guys can remember I actually put up a brand new Boxy winder for exchange for adult diapers. Someone from sgrolexclub got it - for around 10 to 15 packets of adult diapers. And also a pair of boots which i have only worn once. I managed to exchanged it on MCF for ~ 20 packets of rice but the donor was very generous and topped it up to 100 packets.

edit: there is a charity event this sat at Nanyang pri school. there is a person who writes 福 in chinese calligraphy style but using a piece of tissue paper. He has about 60 of them.....asking for $280 per piece (more if you feel like).

I am having this thought on how about we do a little charity on donating some of our lesser worn watches.
But i do not know how to go about doing it... i am worried our effort falls into the wrong hands.

I just looked at my watches and feeling what I can do to few watches I did not wear for quite sometime. Wonder what to do with it. Lol...

They are not expensive watches, just casios and edfices.

well.... if u are really okay with giving them away, u can put them up for exchange with rice or adult diapers, instead of just giving out free......

adult diapers wise those CK neighbourhood stores are cheaper, and rice we usually get from Giant.

it's your call :)
