Given a choice, will you guys go for a speedmaster professional "moonwatch" 3570.50, the more original choice, however it has a hesalite crystal (scratch magnet?) and a solid caseback (can't see movement.. I know of some people who really needs a see through caseback for an automatic/manual movement); or the newer 3573.50, which has a sapphire crystal (scratch resist ftw :s12:) and a see through caseback for the drool movement~

just curious to see if you guys will go for the one closest to the original, or just grab the one that u like the best, irregardless of it being not as close to the original moonwatch :s13:

get 3570.50 and change to display caseback

I would go for the original moonwatch with hesalite. Nevermind that it is closest to the original, but personally the hesalite adds "warmth" to the watch face; while it is easily scratched, it is also easily polished by yourself using polywatch or even tooth paste, sapphire crystal on the other hand is tough to scratch, but once you do, only a professional using tools and diamond paste can polish it; if it is a serious scratch, only a replacement sapphire crystal will do. Hesalite crystal is CHEAP to replace.

Furthermore, having abused my speedmaster (sold already) for 6 years, the hesalite held up well, no scratch that i could not polish out, finally had to replace it when i whacked my watch face against a moving car which cracked my hesalite. IMHO the same impact would have shattered sapphire crystal which would have caused more damage to watch dial and movement.

So i am a supporter of the original moonwatch. If you need a display back, you can buy one and have it installed. That will void Omega warranty i think?

Any kind souls here who can point me on locations where I can get the Omega Planet Ocean watch. I'm looking for a pre-owned time piece. Saw reebonz selling for SGD 3980 for a pristine 42mm case. Just wanna get your expertise if the price is fair or I can get a better deal somewhere. Thanks a lot

You can check out HJ or Monstertime at Far East Plaze. They do occasionally carry POs

I love the see through back. The SpeedyPro movement is really beautiful

i LOVE* display casebacks as well.

However, who should i look for to install display casebacks? and how much will it cost roughly?

I don't think warranty plays a part anymore, considering if you are getting pre-owned SMP. I had the thought initially as well, maybe a rolex 6694, with display caseback.
