Late 40s or Early 50s Gents

Hi RWC,

Met up with Jeff for coffee at Thomson. He fixed up one of my watch again.

It is a late 1940s model transiting into 1950s.

It is sad that they do not make things like they do in the past, everything is a mass production item. Pump out as many as you can and make lots of money from the consumers.

While having coffee with Jeff, we were discussing about the various materials you can use to make the case of the watch, for example, Platinum, Gold, Silver, Nickel, Stainless Steel, Chrome, Brass, Copper, Stone, Wood, Plastic and Titanium.

I remember in the past, they are a few models of watch that was made from Titanium. Titanium is three times stronger than stainless steel and never tarnishes or rusts but Stainless Steel is better in scratch resistance.

I found a piece of old Titanium, put in a new battery and the watch ticks again. Will show you guys tomorrow.

Don't quite like both, somehow the 3 subdials in The Daytona style positions are not something I associate with Patek complications. Patek has to do something more out of the norm

Just curious, what is the supply like for normal pp..? Is it most of the pp model also so limited supply that always need to wait so long if they do not have ready stock..?

To say this you have not read into the history of this series. This is the grail PP and the must get piece other than the nautilus. This is the piece that went for crazy prices in auction for some of the older model. This is the first of the series with PP in house movement. Before this it was using Lemania.


This is the to get thing and the last wall to cross. Then it's the minute repeater. Then the game goes into 7 digits for a watch.

Most have stock. This one is probably not something that sells regularly. So they don't bring in much and PP control the production as well
