If I collect my wife's 048 this weekend, I'm planning to head to Ion boutique to get a XS strap for her deployant and also grab a luminor vintage black strap for my 305. Anyone knows if I can get a cheaper deal for OEM straps at ADs?

I thought hesalite comes w steel caseback? I like the patina on the markers (if this is the actual piece), although the hands look like they've been replaced as they dont have same patina as the markers.

Sexpensive time

A standard 2824 runs 8-10s fast a day, with max of 20s a day.

That is why for daily beaters, people usually get quartz, fuss free and always up to time.

isnt 10-20 second a day pretty fuss free? sorry i am not well verse with auto/handwind. But getting my new automatic watch soon

This speedy model is 3572.50 that comes with hesalite + transparent caseback. But 4k is abit steep i feel, unless is very mint with full complete set. Yeah the patina is nice!

12 secs a day means every 5 days u are a min fast, in a month u will be 6 mins fast. For people dependent on exact timing to catch buses or trains, I think it's quite undependable.

I on the other hand think e price make sense since the newer models prices are obscene, provided as what Oceania said, mint and full set.

those with tudors or pelagos with 2824 mvt, do they keep time well? mine is currently +10 a day sia...

My 2824 (Sinn) is doing a +3 a day after sending it in for servicing. I complained that it was running too fast.

In a year, that is 1 hour and 12 mins fast. :s13:

The patina seems to suggest that it is older than a 10 year old watch. Do you have the 1st 4 digits of its serial? A 2004 speedy should have serial beginning with 7704xxxx to 7708xxxx thereabouts. It should also have 2 red cards instead of white and also should have the newer clasp with push buttons.

Lastly 4k isn't too high for a 3572 with box and papers in good condition but it's certainly not a super good deal

it really depends right? some ppl will adjust time when its 1min off. is so.. 20secs a day will mean dude setting time every 3 days! its very subjective.

That's very good. But i read somewhere that there are actually different grades of 2824 in the market, some are more accurate from the others. Let me see if I can did up the article

I think the older gen speedies would be worth quite a bit provided its mint. No newer dated watch? 10 is a bit old, I'd have to spend some $$ on servicing.

Hi 7703 is about 10 years old ... And the clasp is the correct newer one for a 10 year old watch. Saw your post in WUS but thought I just reply you here.
3572 goes from as low as 3.2k for older ones without box and papers to 4k and above for newer ones in mint cond with box and papers. It's production stopped in mid 2000s and Omega only manufacture the 3570 (hesalite crystal steel back) and 3573 (sapphire sandwich) thereafter. In fact the 3570 and 3573 have also just been discontinued and replaced by a newer model that has a new bracelet with screws instead of pins and a bigger box that contains straps, a caseback and loupe among other things ....and also 1k higher in price ...
