My other PVD black shark mesh hasn't been used yet, still wondering what watch to pair it with. Been thinking about the emperor Tuna for quite sometime now. But not sure whether it is a long term relationship or just a temporary crush.

Electronic watch also will fail, things getting smaller there are issue with doping. Fail faster u mean without service? If so ya

Actually with so much complexity in technology nowadays, it is bound to be that way.

Even something simple as an electric fan. I still have one working antique electric fan from the 80s, but nowadays the electric fan last prob around 5 yrs or so before the cabling or the neck breaks down

I always see digital watches as a need but mechanicals as a want no matter how expensive digital watches may be.

I think service issues would not be a problem for someone who sees it as a hobby.

People who would think twice because of the costs involved about sending their precious watch probably is just an "user who worries about depreciation of his watch more than enjoying it

But don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with being an investor, flipper or hobbyist.

I'm a hobbyist for watches but a user for cars.

Hmm i m aware n have no problems sending watches for service but i m concern about the quality of service .

thats true, buy wad u can afford.. but luxury watches should come with "luxury" service and maintainance mah..

of course mechanical watch are more fragile, all the more they need better n more detailed servcing. How would u guys feel if yr newly serviced watch come back with dirt in dial/ scratches/ misaligned hands /poor timekeeping etc..Of course there are occasional slip ups but having to go in n out of service centre numerous times, having to pay for unsastisfactory service doesnt make a consumer happy mah..

its so ironic how my serviced afforable watch come back to me in a better conditon than my more expensive watches...

yeah one of the prevalent issues is the quality of the service centre supporting the watch brand. especially in singapore. not the case in europe, especially closer to europe where talent is easier to find, and somehow their economics works out so that one can have a proud career as a watchmaker and yet have a good quality of life.

in singapore the authorised dealers will tell you cost of rentals is high to maintain the boutiques, talent is hard to get. in short we can assume they line their pockets first... and hence the quality of service falls short.

its amazing that there are that high number of complaints for rolex for instance (those you've pointed out), especially since a regular servicing of say a current GMT Master costs $900 exluding parts. Even more amazing is paying thousands for a new Omega watch in the boutique, but going to the service centre, lining up with the kids going there to service their Swatch

But its really two separate issues: Buying the watch vs. maintaining the watch.

Heng suay one... i have had no problems with both Swatch & Richemont for my watches within or out of warranty.

Just be patient. You don't need it now right? In fact, nobody actually needs a watch like immediately so time is on your side. Wait for restock. Suggest you to follow the Casio Facebook page in Sg.

if you find that washing it is a temporary solution, then consider wearing your watch looser to give both the wrist and the watch a chance to air out. better still rotate your watch with bands of different materials and sizes.

yes definitely not citizen branded retail

but 124 vs 78 ... OEM movement is the way to go.

and also bulova watches which they own.
