In my opinion, in-house movement is kinda like getting a Ferrari instead of a Honda to drive on the streets, both serve the same purpose yet Ferrari costs more to service and may even lose out in accuracy (fuel efficiency in case of cars). But the thing that sets it apart and why people still buy Ferrari is entirely because of worksmanship, like having a special unique "artpiece" that isn't as mass manufactured.
Exactly same scenario as why I find it stupid that some people say it's stupid to buy a Ferrari/Lamborghini in Singapore when the street limit is barely 80km/h with so many traffic lights. It's not about the speed, just like buying a Patek perpetual calender vs a G-Shock, the Patek doesn't make time go by faster or anything.
not all in-house movements are created the same though.
i have a feeling that some recent in-house movements are more "draw snake add legs" than anything else... especially from the newer manufactures.
