hi, anyone knows the price to repair an ETA movement watch (stowa flieger) in Singapore? any good independent watchmaker.
Stowa quote me a ridiculous price even though I have warranty

what happened to the ETA movement? I only know ridiculous repair prices if the owner damaged some parts within the mechanism.
So, you broke the mechanics inside? Or you overwind the spring?

if you damaged some parts within the watch, most probably you will receive similar repair quotes from good independent watch shops.

Got my 351 in italy, after Vat refund, price is at least 1.3k difference from local. That time exchange rate was 1.73, with a weaker euro now, u should be getting better savings.

that's alot of savings. more than enough cash to hoot a few nice looking straps to match the PAM :D

I'm having my "staycation" at home. Just bought FIFA 15 and I'll be dammed if I have to go anywhere this weekend.

I used to buy Winning Eleven yearly... After my son was born, my Xbox has become just a living room ornament!

My son keeps snatching the controller. I give him a spare one and pretend that it's on two-player mode, but he sees through it everytime !

thanks coern and others who replied. I decide not to buy the local set at $6500 for pam 00000 as my research from sg roc and other forums tells that I can save at least 1k from buying in Europe.

Most likely I may buy at Florence Italy as my wife can go to Space Prada too.

Like what bros here mentioned, it's a must to do groundwork by email/call up the AD/boutique before the trip to ensure ur target model is in stock.

Btw, just to get a feel. With the upcoming apple watch n other smart wearable, will these hi tech watches bring a down fall to the value of luxury brands ? I mean, who will buy a panerai pam 00000 for $6500 for only telling time when apple watch is also nicely designed and well built, for much lesser with much more complications ?

Just a thought nia.

you dont buy a watch to tell time anymore. you buy a watch to appreciate the workmanship and craft that went into the watch. you buy it to project an image, its an extension of your style.

Again I must say that Apple "watch" isn't a watch. It's wearable tech that happens to have a clock function. It was never designed to be a time piece and that is not it's main purpose. And nope the luxury watch companies will laugh at the Apple Watch..people that are crazy enough to spend thousands and even hundreds of thousands on a mechanical time piece usually are not early tech adopters. Perhaps the fashion watch companies or low end watch companies will be affected? But hey even Swatch doesn't think it will kill their Swatch line of watches...in fact if any of the Swiss watch companies can make a good smart watch, it's Swatch. Fact is I feel that the Apple Watch / smart watch is a non product. Serves no real purpose since it needs to pair and work with a phone. It doesn't serve as jewellery or status symbols either because they are just too cheap and do not have the history or brand power...

Well the day the likes of Lange or PP or some other high end watch maker announces they will be launching a smart watch then I will believe the time of traditional horology is over..

Hi just to share. Swatch Singapore outlets remove scratches off our watches for free but only for swatch brand. Fixed my Sistem51 in like a minute. Thanks guys for all the tips and help for removing scratches.
