Orient Mako Automatic 200m Scuba Diver Watch CEM75002D EM75002D

Shortening of bracelet = $5 SGD

Was thinking of getting skx009 or this, in the end I went for this because of the blue dial

Good size if you want a tough chunky looking diver. 44.5mm not small. DSSD size.

Nice looking Orient and the blue dial looks great!

Is the bracelet "pin" type or "screw" type? $5 is not expensive neither is it cheap.

Oh, I see. The "classic fusion" one huh. Oddly enough, an apt name.

Takes sharp eyes to pick up on that!

Made a search and read that SKX031 is discontinued. Such a beauty. Such disappointment. Anyone knows where can I still get it?

Bro Noobiee - can share where you get that watch? Been searching for it online, but can't find.

Yup yup that piece. Closer view can see no day date at six o'clock, crown made of plastic, the screws on the bezel are not leveled and many more

Time to "retire" my Panerai watches because this one is it!

1972 Seiko 5

It has my late grandfather's name engraved at the back.

Told Uncle Goh at K2 that it was my late grandfather's watch and needed some sprucing up. He declined saying that it has a heavy duty movement so there was no need to do any servicing, even though it was sitting in a drawer for the past 20+ years.

Bought a S$12 strap for it, went home to polish the acrylic dome and it has been on my wrist since the weekend.

Guess it is time for my Pams to spend a bit of time in the drawers. :)

Love them old seiko 5s. Got one from my dad as well, found it stashed in a box of junk, had to get it serviced. Different indices but otherwise identical to yours... Oddly enough it's my most complemented watch, despite spending thousands on all sorts of other ones.

Syncing between months is tough though!

How come I don't have such hand me downs. I didn't know Seiko 5 has been around that long. My grandparents all gone, so no more chance. People may think it's tad odd on your wrist I guess but it will have that special feeling wearing it...:D. Its not a Patek but I would still really treasure it.

Just Googled. 1963! Was the in thing watch of the 60s so can imagine why your grand pa bought it . The Seiko 5 story : http://www.seikowatches.com/5sports/seiko5story/index.html
