7% gst not exactly a given anymore these days..

Why not? I haven't heard of anyone buying 1 expensive watch from overseas and bringing it back to SG getting asked to pay GST. If you decide to bring in an insane number, then you've got to be prepared for the consequences if caught not declaring.

Want to be extra safe? Wear your new watch back to SG.

Don't want to wear it on the flight because scared get scratches or other people might see?

Then just carry your watch (in its box etc) in your hand luggage from your departing destination in Europe. After landing in Changi airport and once you're out from your plane, go to the toilet and wear your watch. Then clear customs, collect your bags and walk out from green zone. Once outside, take out your watch and put it back in its box which you have in your hand luggage. The maximum time watch on your wrist is less than 15 minutes. Is it worth it, Well for a $50K PP, 7% GST savings is $3500.

Well, maybe i meddle with the watch setting too much, mechanism need to be changed when i send in for service. For analog GPS watches, casio s gpw1000 is the cheapest $999 retail.

Astron cost 2k, F100 about 2k or below. Else casio s MRG/MRG, Oceanus all cost above 2k. GPW has a more rugged look.

The selling point of F100 is that citizen claims the watch can acquire satellite signal in 3 secs. My gpw1000 takes 30-60 secs to get it lol. Astron not too sure.

Depends on which style u want.

i'm looking for a robust/efficient gps time-sync functionality most of all.

how did you know the watch required servicing ? unresponsive to buttons ? seldom but at the same time interesting to see a quality issue for a g-shock.

So how much did you paid for it? Just checking if there is any price up recently.

Finally got my Black Bay but am thinking of changing to leather strap instead, so might have to sell my BB in bracelet (red).

Anyone interested do let me know. Brand new unworn, local AD full set with all stickers.

Been eyeing it since 2012 Basel and FINALLY got it lol.

Retail price is still $4130 for leather and $4550 for bracelet, no changes in retail price yet, IIRC since the launch of the watch, but doubt it will stay for much longer.

ha...probably still ironing out the new technology...good thing covered by local warranty !

other than the gps tech i'm also interested to know if the accuracy of the underlying quartz movements. also the f100 doesn't auto sync to location, not sure about astron.

Davosa 500m looks crazily similar to rolex sub. How much is it selling for? Since i probably wouldnt be paying that kind of price for a watch. I do like the sub looks. Anyone care to share??

Does this one look lagi more like the sub? S$700.

I think most gps analog watches dont do auto, except for the atomic clock syncing which is auto...

Not just due to the swiss franc, these buggers are always raising prices way ahead of inflation. Its a bubble which will burst one day. Apparently noting that every fella is heading upstream, Tag Heuer realising there is a vacuum being left at the lower luxury end is adopting the strategy of aiming lower instead. End of the day its all about the bottom line. Sell 100 roadside curry puff at 3 for $1 or 30 Old Chang Kee for $1.20 ea.
