Long-time Apple analyst John Gruber has shared with us his estimates for the Apple Watch’s prices. He’s revealed how much he reckons each version of the watch will cost:

Apple Watch Sport with aluminium/glass: $349 (£213)
Apple Watch with stainless steel/sapphire: $999 (£613)
Apple Watch Edition with 18-karat gold/sapphire: $4,999 (£3062)

hmmm..who will buy the gold ones, i wonder.... they're not like auto watches that can last a lifetime, most prob after a year or two must upgrade then it becomes scrap metal..

even if original, the santos has always made me wonder, why don't they bother to align the screws in front, like the AP RO or just simply in one single direction.

It's the Sinn U1 White dial. A limited edition run of the U1 with only 300 pieces in production. Hehe

It is a modification, i bought the blue sumo. Ordered the pepsi bezel from yobokies. Sent it to K2 for modification.

What i like about the sumo is the overall package,weight, specifications and look. But i also like the pepsi color of the SKX009. I reckon the modification gives me the best of both world.

the only drawback is the lug hole distance, need a thick strap to avoid having a huge gap in between.

By the way, that looks like a dial mod for the SKX009. it should come with a day function.

You are very optimistic. I am really no expert but I doubt there would be few takers here who would wager on the authenticity of that santos, possibly none if one has knowledge of the unique AP piece shared by the same poster a few days back!

eh no la. I think my point was not put across clearly. My bad, let me try again.

My main point is I am puzzled why cartier didn't bother to align the front screws in the santos (genuine one). Perhaps it's because of some heritage or historical reasons that I don't know of?

I wasn't providing any judgement on whether that picture showed a genuine or fake as I am no Cartier expert, and much to learn.

I think the price diff is quite big, i like the original u1 but i am considering the ux bcoz i like the dial better hehe...

Do u guys feel that we all should have that black leather dress watch, the way every woman has that black 1 piece dress?

My choice would be this Glashutte Original Panoreserve. IWCs tend to be too big. Anyone with me?

Or the more attractive but less practical cousin Panolunar

Suprisingly these apparently can be got for not much more than your average Sub C or Pam.

Go for under 40mm one cheers

hey a seiko is a great start, don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

For <$500 recognized seiko dress watches are the

seiko sary057

or the seiko sarb033

the sary057 wears bigger than the sarb033, 41mm vs 38mm, seems like younger guys go far >40mm watches these days...

...or stretch towards a tissot visodate if you want something different (about $700):

i'm sure the other bros here have other ideas as well...
