Dude I went to Chuan and spoke with Sherleen, they're all used. I also texted Nicholas before I went down.

preowned is okay and you don't lose much, especially on the aquanaut.......I have seen 16k aquanaut on CW and snapped up very fast.

consider your commitments and stuff, do not rush into buying one just for the sake of buying one......having one does not make you a higher mortal; not owning one does not make you a lower one neither.

maybe save the money for investment since you cant do much with the watch during NS, and let it grow. out of NS, can use money for further education or starting/growing your business.

Just some sincere advice for someone almost half my age.

the only reason i wanted a Patek is because i have this idealogy that if i want something, i will just buy the best and be done with it

sounds kinda weird but yeah i guess i may just settle for something else or wait till later this year before i pick up an Aquanut.

i can share with my dad to wear it :o

I disagree with your ideology man. What defines an Aquanut as the "best"?

I feel that every fine timepiece, heck even every timepiece, has that magical something that appeals to their owners. That is why, some of us take great joy in collecting timepieces. Each piece tells its own story of how it appeals to us and why we bought it.

Then again, perhaps the reason why I disagree is because I do not have the ability to simply hoot an Aquanut (I probably have to sell my entire collection and that may not be enough!!) :s13::s13::s13:

yeah i know its really hard to get good pics of GS due to the highly reflective surfaces and the details in the sunburst texture on that dial.

send it to me for a week and let me see what i can do :D

more seriously thats the sbga095 limited edition brown dial right? i nearly went for that before i settled on a basic black.

for Grand Seikos it must be seen and held in hand to appreciate the quality and the mini light show in your hands :s22:

trust the guys with the brightest lume possible to give it up and pursue no lume in their top end watch!

so good i'm quickly losing interest in all swiss watches. maybe the 60's seiko tagline is finally coming true:

This model is with the fluted while gold bezel, of course it will look uncle if it's full yellow gold. I also tried the one without bezel and looks a bit plan.

Not very uncle to me... i can imagine it would go well with jeans and polo / shirt.

Hoot first think later !

Hey fantasium, that looks great. Discreet and low profile since only you know it's white gold!

Btw, have you considered the basic date just 2 in SS? I've always felt that this has a classic timeless look. Whichever model you choose, as long as you like it. It's good to go. :)

Hmm interesting thought, but what makes you think that Patek is the best? Especially a sports model? That really isn't very tough or sporty? What's best or not, I guess is very subjective, everyone will have different expectation. Being expensive doesn't make it the best I think. I have yet to buy any high end brands like Patek, AP or ALS etc for I just don't feel they are the BEST? I have not been able to find a set of criteria as to what is the best? I personally feel 一山比一山高, there will always be another watch, another brand out there that is better than any watch I buy, hence truly what is the best? No such thing in my point of view, what I happen to like best and think it's worth getting at any point of time would be the best...at least for me...

Hmm confusing logic huh?

Different person different perspective on BEST , in this case watches. A seiko can be best to someone too... as they say behind every purchase lies a story , so call best is be contented of what you have ?

Then again , it may not apply to brand whores... ;):s8:
