My watch, can't win those luxury watches here though

My main concern with this watch is the black paint on the bezel coming off after a while. I paid about $300 for a Seiko before only to see it happen. Really ruined the whole look as it screamed poor quality to anyone looking at the watch, made me shy to wear it. Not something I expected for the money I paid. Needless to say I was very disappointed. I like to keep watches for life if possible but that one failed me. I understand it can be repainted but it didn't seem an attractive option for me.

At mbk, there is a store at 3rd or 4th level selling panerai straps. Go have a look bro, i bought one leather strap couple years ago and the quality was great if not on par with gunny.

They are a reseller who deals with a couple of strap brands, notably Kainheritage.

I will be flying down to BKK from my wife's hometown in the next couple of days. May pop by MBK just to check it out again.

Means like...how many times should I wind the watch to keep the movement running. Assuming winding 20 times is sufficient to last 2 days, what happen if I turn it 100 or 200 times?

Ahhh....that is a hard one, depending on the movement type. I normally wind them up with a few times, check the movement is moving to prevent the oil from gel up. I have many vintage automatic watches to a point, I gave up but I kept them in a dust free and dry environment which in Singapore, it is hard unless you buy and use a dry box like those you would use to store camera.

I am sentimental about watches so I like to be the only owner and also I like knowing the watch had no internal damage through falls or something. Otherwise I think I would sure go pre owned. Can save a lot which means can buy more and enjoy more watches. Also means buying at resale selling later on will not lose much or at all, and might even make. So being particular like me can actually be a mental handicap.

Thanks for the kind comment, actually i wanted the plain-est of the GS range with power reserve. There's a couple of GS GMTs and a "snowflake" on this forum, all of which rank higher on the GS luxury scale. But this humble simple three-hander works for me.

wow, nice, seldom see you wield seiko. new purchase? the day they change the hands and indices on the sbdb009 is the day i get a spring drive.

Got it a few months back. Actually I am a big fan of Seiko and more so with time. Spring drive, GPS Astron ... lots of real and useful innovation from Seiko. I don't think the Swiss can ignore them for much longer.

With the increasing number of new Grand Seiko's and Anniversary Models coming out these days, you might just get your wish!

Yeah I know, I had that too, but I feel that I will definitely want to change other stuffs in the future, so a preowned would be better to reduce or make it no lost.

Used to have Sub, 2 x Daytona and even AP Diver. But I regret letting off the Daytona though, but almost no lost, will get it back in the future as a keeper!
