Instead of the bronzo maybe the Pam 355 alarm function would be more useful :)

A bit late to the party but I just read about the new Pam 587 with the 1940s case. Oh. my. gawd. I don't want one, I NEED one!

I like the blue better...:D=:p
Me too. I generally prefer darker dials, but variety is nice too. Under the right lighting the silver dial of this seamaster shows the harmony of the different blues better:

How does a mechanical watch alarm works?
Quite similar to its winding clock counterparts - there are two separate power sources, one to run the watch, the other to sound the "bell".

As you can imagine it takes a lot more power for the alarm and so you'd have to manually wind up the power for the alarm, and it doesn't last very long.

No rocket science here though some brands make a meal of it charging exorbitant prices for the extra feature. Seiko has had them since the 70's in their 'Bellmatic' and I have a couple that are still running well today.

won't go wrong with the rolex sub - standard reference diver design, great resale value, accepted as a dress watch, even with a tux!

and this is the no-nonsense perfectly balanced design without the date...what took you so long :)

Took me a while to get over the "brand baggage" that Rachdanon refers to.

But I thought what the heck, you only live once, don't hold back because of what others may think!
