On the contrary, you need to manual wind your watch to kick start the movement and ensure it is fully wound. Some watches require 20 turns while others 40. This is quite basic. Your rely on your wrist movement to maintain the reserve not to wind up your watch.

Are you planning on actually diving with your submariner? Its a count up bezel, you align the lume pip triangle with the minute hand at the start of the session and as time pass, accumulated time will be marked by the minute hand against the bezel markers.

villan - i had done a review of my new pam zero recently, please refer to Part 6 thread.

as for above, it's really up to you...both base models have different features like some of the guys brought up, do you want a exhibition case? Do you want painted or sandwich dial? does the original logo on the front matter to you? Are you willing to pay more for the 111? etc

try them on and make a decision.

Just on the zero, no seconds - no problem, unfortunately I find the motor quite loud compare to my other watches...so you can hear the ticking when close to your ear. I wind it up every two days. So far so good.

There are a lot of watches without seconds too, like the JLCs and Pateks.

Buying a watch is sometimes quite an emotional and sentimental process. Take your time, these watches here in the long run...don't rush into anything you're not comfortable. Good luck

this is what I will do when I want to wear my Tudor when it is fully wind-down.

I will shake the watch a few times. This makes the mechanism within to auto wind up and start moving the seconds hand. Then I will proceed to slowly turn the crown 20 times.

Then I will screw back the crown and wear my watch...

i agree with zzyzx that it is not advisable to wind your watch too fast, because it may spoil the mechanisms within.

Thanks for the reply! Planning to after I obtain my diving licence. Or would you advise otherwise? Any idea how does the count down bezel differ?

No expert here. Not familiar with hk. But hj watches has a coke. Google the shop. I find price slight on high side and i can be wrong.

+1 for PAM post, i think 392 is jin chio. the bext best alternative to the king of the chioest PAM thr 393. :D
