5146 for me!

As much as I love Nautilus (plain or chrono only), but that 5146 is really really nice IMO.

Not a big fan of complication Nautilus, as it is meant to be a sports model after all.

Nautilus for your boy. A PP that your wife fancies and caretake for your girl, regardless of model.

well....... may I put this up for discussion?
All mature people here so let's keep it amicable. Else don't blame me for what I'll do to your hotdog. :s13:

I guess a number of you know my wife and I have intention to leave a Patek to each of our children (twins; one boy one girl).

The 5712 will be one (bought about 42k brand new) and we are looking to get another one.
Tried a few, and took pictures of these two just this afternoon.

several considerations:
- similar price. we try to be as fair as possible. as close to 42k as possible.
- patek with complications.

these two annual calendars below are very close to 50k. so pricing is similar.
We could get the nautilus 5726; so both twins get a nautilus, but with different complications.
Same same but different; just like twins :D

Or just get a totally different design. The nautilus is somewhat sporty so we probably could get a dressy one. And in white gold some more, for not much diff in price.

5726

5146

(AND NO I CANNOT AFFORD TO BUY BOTH SO DON'T POST THE IS IT TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR BOTH MEME HOR .............LOL)

I think the 5146 is lovely and should be a great choice for the second pair. There would be a nice yin and yang effect where both pairs are true works of art in different forms.

Yatto,

Both cannot go wrong, I'm inclined to 5146 as you already have a nautilus.. As for your kids only they can tell eventually which looks they like... It's more practical the 5146 and 5712 for different occasions

Memories...

How I wish I could go back there. Haha!

Miss my secondary school days too... life was much simpler back then... I was from the old campus. This current one although is not a big campus, but it was way bigger then the old one.

Just to expand a little more on my post yesterday, think it's a good idea to engage your wife on the next PP. Basically other than the quartz, most PPs should be sound buys (u can always get a quick affirmation fr iceflight on specific models).

Afterall, it's meant to be a legacy thing and will be wonderful for u n wife to have a 'beater' PP respectively to hand down.

Yeah!

I was from the old campus too! Before they renovated everything.. I used to remember we would go to the multiple grass steps that is beside the running track to catch spiders. Haha! Or.. my favourite stall at the canteen beside the assembly square where the Edward Becheras statue is located..

I've forgotten who my principal is already though, its the previous one before Lee Hak Boon (don't like how he branded and changed everything though).

Any watch psychiatrist here? Can cure the stigma I would feel if I wore a Rolex homage, specifically the Steinhart Ocean 1 vintage military. I believe it's a homage to the 5517.

A proud owner of a Steinhart here (can even tell from my DP).

A properly well made homage such as Steinhart is better than a replica Rolex.

If you do purchase one enjoy it and wear it in good health.

Thanks for all your inputs guys :)

If I have the money for both I would. Now I feel a kind of bad that one kid will have an annual cal while the other doesn't. Maybe I shoud save up for both and whack one time. Or wait till they are 21.

Yeah so it's back to square one. Nautilus again as they are same same but different; but the 5146 is something different and practical for me now - dressy for the occassion; and the 5712 for the casual days.

If its the 5146 I'd prob get a YG or RG one. Personally prefers dress watch to be YG/RG.

Nope they will not be safe queens. I will be wearing them and every scratch and ding will be a story I can tell them.

My 5712 has a long scratch. I was shielding my son's head from a sharp corner at USS. Gonna be a story I tell them next time. Then make him pay for polishing. Hahahahahhaah

Hi guys, any experience with the folks at Richemont service centre? I'll be sending in my B&M soon due to it not winding properly. :(

From the impressions I have gathered in my short time here, I can say you probably do not have to overthink things. Loving parents bring up their kids to cherish relationships - the bond between siblings will hopefully be so strong you will not find them viewing whichever watch they get as inferior or lacking in any way - it's the collective memories that they represent.
In short - get what you like, because you've earned it :)
