Guys,

What's a classy and "powerful" dress watch that is at least 46mm and costs under 7k SGD.

I wear suits for work, Mainstream brands are either too expensive or too small on my wrist.

Please advise..

dress watch at 46mm? kinda rare iirc. I can only think of panerai but I do not know which models can be had for 7k....
Pam305 already 8k+ in preowned market.that's powerful enough i feel.

dress watches supposed to be "quiet" and does not shout for attention; hence usually smaller.

As per what yatto mentioned, dress watches are normally small sized and discreet. However, if you'd still like a watch that is "powerful" and yet able to be worn with a suit. I'll personally recommend that you choose a smaller sized watch like a Pam 000 (44mm, still reasonably large) that would be able to slip under the cuff.

I think it can be had for about 6.5K? IIRC.

Mont Blanc Perpetual Calender is cheapest...find dial a bit crowded

hard to find another mechanical perpetual at that price range (~15k?) yeah?

JLC steel one already ~25k available at boutique and has a waiting list. RG after disc just above 30k.

Define powerful please. Powerful wrist presence?

Or powerful instantly recognizable classic timepiece.

Hard to find any classic instant recognizable at 46mm except the pam but for 7k - only the base models at 44mm is available there

A planet ocean at 45.5mm and some navitimers are avaible at your price range But I don't view them as particularly dressy

Another to consider would be the IWC Perpetual Calendar in steel..? Its going for 28K @ watchlink.

What is the view of getting a Tag Heuer Carrera 1887 43mm at 7k+?

http://s22.postimg.org/ed7ioqo3j/Screen_Shot_2015_03_07_at_8_58_23_am.png[/IMG

As much as I should be getting a watch that I fancy, I do want it to make economical sense as well :D

I did some searching, a Tag Heuer model that costs 6k, on the second hand market it costs 4k and that is after 4 months of usage. Does Tag Heuer not hold its value well?[/QUOTE]

Not many watches hold their value well, Tag is not one of them.
So which criteria is more important, something you like or economic value?
Cal 1887 is contentious bcos Tag says it in-house but it's based on a seiko movement.
theres quite a bit of options for 7k

Oversized dress watch? IWC lor.....in fact its because their "dress" watches are so big that people don't buy their otherwise very attractive pieces.

Sorry, don't have a "watch vocabulary" as you guys. I'm very new to all of this.

I meant powerful as Powerful wrist presence.

And I don't want to limit myself because based on what i've google-ed, I found out about "Micro brands".

Please school this newbie..
