Can empathize with how you feel...no doubt its a great design, but it is prevalent in all watch forums, quite possibly the most common with WIS folks.

Right now more interested in the odd Patch/Jap limited issues for more exclusivity. Kept the one on the left, sold the '68 tropical dial a while ago...

Noooo....!!! Tropical dial speedies are awesome.

The Apollo 13 patch edition is a nice in-betweener. Nice symbolism, nice logo, tritum indices (that have generally faded by now). A couple came up for sale a few weeks back.

Now hunting for a pre-moon speedy. Prices have gone up quite a bit.

The pervasive reports of the inaccurate 7-day IWC actually put me off getting it and affected my perception of the brand. Just my personal perceptions.

well tropical or not a 1861 and is still not a 321, which is the real thing. to borrow from Yatto's quote, my mantra is now go big or go rare!

My elder boy loves the water theme park! My younger boy loves to build his car for the down slope race.

The trees didn't seem to grow much over these 2.5 years!!! Still as hot and not much shade!!!

The diamond pastes arrived from HK.

Went from 5micron to 3.5 to 1 and finally to 0.25micron.

About 15 minutes of elbow grease and the scratch on the sapphire crystal was polished out.

This thing works.

And all it cost was $17 inclusive of shipping.

Sent from Somewhere to Everywhere using GAGT

Wa.. Can I know where did you get it from?
And how deep is the scratches?

Thanks

good article here on the 5001 here
ThePuristS.com - IWC ref. 5001

when i was considering a week long power reserve and considering the IWC 7-day (against the Pam233 8 days) , there were some questions about how the IWC movement is regulated and calculated to be accurate over 7 days, albeit with a noticeable day to day variance...not sure if they fixed it or left it that way.

Quite a good read. I must say I'm really wondering how much difference the purported improvements in the IW 5007's new 52010 caliber make. Think it'll be a while before there are more reviews though, given how new the IW 5007 is.
