Cheesy, hole-y watch anyone? Haha...

this is excellent advice. way overdue. but gotta blame the govt for insensitizing us with high prices of government housing in the first place. after that, a 100K car and 10K watch seems relatively a whole lot cheaper.

A bit like how the Japanese spent money.

Long time ago, the old generations owned land. Then those who could not buy land, bought houses.

As those two assets kept getting held on, they got ever more expensive. Then the newer gens bought other big money items. Cars > Country Clubs > Watches > Haute couture.

So it became like, "too poor to buy a house. then buy the other forms of status symbols". :s22:

For every practical minded person, i am sure there will be someone who will use 48 months credit card plan to buy a watch.

I also used monthly installment to pay for some items. Just need to know your limit and don't over spend it will do.

I dun think any bros or sis here bought watch on installament plan..all use cold hard cash

Actually as long as budget properly, installment is better.

You're paying the same price over a longer period, the actual cost of the way is lower relatively when you're paying $250 2 years later compared to $250 now.

Plus if got the excess cash flow, might as well throw it inside the bank and let it deduct off by giro, still have cash flow for emergency.

But don't rack up too much instalment plans then it will be very tough.

For direct cash off, pay by cash usually better. Credit card instalment plans the AD can't give much further discounts because of the credit card processing fees.

I agree that such instalment plans are more for fellows who have spare disposable cash. Put a watch purchase on 36months, den link monthly giro to a bank account.

Amount divided by installment period. That's all. No hidden amount.

And I know the manager so got extra discount.
