hello watch experts, sorry to disturb. thinking of getting a new watch (budget around 200-500), thinking of going for seiko as heard its very reliable and reasonable priced. Are there any other brands u guys would recommend as i know nothing about watches lol. would prefer black strap watches(leather or rubber).

and also if i decided to go for seiko in the end, where's a good place to go to for the best price and wide range? sorry for the trouble and thanks in advance for the advice! :o

comparable might be orient/orient star/casio g shock.

if you're looking for dressy watch. SARB065
if you're looking for sporty watch. SBDC001 or SBDC003
if you're looking for casual watch. SARG009 or SARG005

all the above suggestions are jdm models so online would be cheaper. at your budget, seiko would be the most reputable in terms of quality and design.

Hey man,

what online website is good for Seiko Sumo? Reputable online shops? Will k2 be cheaper?

The models I quoted all hyper linked to chino watch. Reputable alongside higuchi and seiya Japan. Seiya webstore is close at the moment. Rakuten has reputable stores too such as seiko3s but it's more troublesome cuz shipping is quoted separately. They do reply fast though. K2 doesn't sell jdm models.

Alright, I want a fuzz free stores so might be looking at chino watch and seiya when it's out.

Btw, I'm deciding between the Sumo and Criteria.

I'm looking to get my first watch so I'm not sure which is good and what not. My budget is about 300-500 as well.

Was at Bencoolen the other day looking at watches and saw the Criteria series looking good. But online, not a lot of watch collectors are talking about it.

Mostly Sumo, Shogun and what not for Seiko.

Shogun is nice but at almost $1k and looks exactly the same as Sumo.

What will be a good watch? I'm looking at Sumo, Criteria kind of looks. Hope you or the others can help.

For JDM model, u can email seiya directly at their email seiya@seiyajapan.com. Once payment is made, u will receive the watch in 2-3 days!

Super Nippon efficiency!!! No horse run!!!

haha any idea what's the price of Sumo might be in Seiya? I'm still deciding which watch to get. Deciding between Sumo and Criteria and others actually.

Actually, open minded to other brands but budget is low at $300-500. I'm looking to get one for daily wear so hopefully can withstand daily wear and tear.

This is my new $300++ Seiko. But its strap is neither leather nor rubber.

at your budget i think the best you can get will be the sumo le ba? or the cheaper SKX007.. another cheap(er) option will be orient mako series which keeps excellent time i heard..

criteria is quartz liao (right?).. a rather different range altogether..
